Property code: OC-CHD

Close to the beach and with fantastic views over the marshes and sea, this welcoming period house is in a sought-after location within the unspoilt village of Dunwich. A beautifully decorated interior and a huge, enclosed garden make this an excellent choice for a family get-together or a holiday with friends, bringing three canine companions, too.

Generously sized rooms, brick flooring and exposed beams give this superb property heaps of character. The kitchen and adjoining utility room have all the facilities you’ll need for creating stress-free holiday meals, and the spacious dining room is a pleasure to eat in. Double doors lead to the gorgeous conservatory, which has comfortable seating and marsh views. On the ground floor there’s also an airy double bedroom and a separate bathroom. Via an open staircase, you’ll find the lounge on the first floor, with French doors that make the most of its marsh and sea views. This beautiful room has a vaulted ceiling, timber floor, TV and DVD. Three further bedrooms are on this floor: a king-size with an en-suite shower room, a twin and a single which has a pull-out option to create a twin. These latter two rooms share a family shower room. As for outside space, children and pets will appreciate the enormous garden, which has a decked area with dining furniture and a BBQ.

Dunwich was once a thriving medieval port but is now known as England’s ‘lost city’, and you can see the ruins of a medieval friary. It also has a pebble beach, a large nature reserve and a friendly pub that serves locally sourced food and even offers a special dog menu. For day trips, Southwold and Aldeburgh are both only 10 miles away.

Lovely cottage in an idyllic spot we were spoilt for choice on our morning walks with woodland, wetland, heath and beach all within 2 minutes of the property. Most importantly if you have dogs the garden is genuinely secure .My spaniel cross is an escape artist and even she couldn't get out which made for a relaxing holiday.

Fantastic holiday home. Perfect location, right on the beach but so quiet annd tranquil, and huge garden for the dogs. Beautifully furnished and well equipped. A true dog friendly holiday let. The cottage is very well equipped although we did not locate a coffee machine. Plenty of games, books and other entertainment present. One downside for those with mobility issues the downstairs an suite only has a hand held shower from the taps so one needs to be able to enter and exit a bath. Wildlife very abundant in the garden with nice viewsRead more over the marsh. Very close to both the beach and local inn. Bedrooms all a good size, comfortable beds and plenty of storage space for clothes. Large, safe garden for those with children. Hide

A lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Wonderful walks from the door and the beach a stones throw away. Comfortable conservatory in which to watch the visiting wildlife. Interior could benefit from being refreshed in places though. A history of the lovely building would be of interest too. Overall a very pleasant place to stay.
