This charming property, situated just 350 metres from Southwold’s North Beach, is the perfect hideaway for anyone looking for a peaceful holiday by the sea. Sleeping six over three tranquil bedrooms with space for a dog, this end-terrace cottage is ideal for families or groups of friends that won’t leave anyone behind. Spend sunny days out on the patio, dining alfresco and retiring to the pretty summerhouse when it gets a little chilly.
The holiday home, which is just 500 metres from the centre of Southwold, is spacious and cosy. The stylish kitchen diner has everything you need to cook up a storm, with a fabulous Range-style oven and colourful splashback. Dine at the table in the middle, chatting about your plans for tomorrow. Move through to the lounge where earthy tones and comfortable sofas make it a wonderful spot to wind down in before heading to bed. Each bedroom has calming, neutral decor to help you get a good night’s sleep. There’s a shower room and a family bathroom, so no need to worry about queues in the morning!
After a day at the beach, visit the bizarre arcade machines at the Under the Pier Show (500 metres) or spend your change at the traditional arcade at the top of the pier. Take a family walk down to Walberswick (2 miles) across the River Blyth on the foot ferry; there are plenty of cafes and pubs to rest at and the beach is much quieter than Southwold’s. Southwold has plenty of boutique shops but if you want to browse more antique shops and quirky stalls, visit Snape Maltings (19 miles) for the day; you could take a stroll on Aldeburgh Beach (18 miles) before you head home.
