Southwold Pier Area - It is often said that nothing changes in Southwold. However, the much-acclaimed pier was rebuilt in 2001 and was the first to be constructed in England in over fifty years. It now fits in well with the painted beach huts, promenade and colourful flower beds. There is a shop, cafes and an alternative amusement arcade there. The selection of properties' hereabouts makes it an ideal location to stay in Southwold if you require quiet accommodation that is also close to the beach, town centre and the many footpaths across the marshes leading you to the less explored areas of the town.

Saxon House is in a great position , near the pier and beach . We all found the beds to be comfortable and slept well. The showers were a tad small for a couple of the men but there is a bath in the house with overhead shower so that suited them . Hand wash is provided in all bathrooms . In the kitchen , it was easy to work out how to use the ovens. Our only criticism would be that some of the equipment could do with being replaced. It is a short pleasant stroll into town for restaurants and bars. A garden shed houses some garden chairs. There is only one television ( not a problem for us ) and that is in the small snug room , along with a basket of games. . The main lounge has 3 large sofas . We had a lovely holiday and would stay here again .
Great place to stay, we went with 10 people and we had a spare bedroom. Each bedroom had its own bathroom, even 3 spare bathrooms downstairs. Highly recommend going as it’s in a great location and easy to get to.
