Step out from this gorgeous, New England-style, Southwold cottage and wander over to the sandy beach opposite on warm summer days. The delightful retreat sleeps four guests and enjoys a tranquil position with sea views from upstairs. It is just 500 metres from the centre of town, with its plethora of shops and eateries, and 0.5 miles from the harbour, where families enjoy crabbing and foodies like to buy freshly landed seafood. This delightful abode, which welcomes pets, also benefits from an attractive, lawned garden where you can bask in the sunshine and watch your four-legged friends play.
Take a few steps up and let yourselves in to find a colourful lounge, where you can watch TV, play games and generally relax after your days on the beach or out walking. Head through to the kitchen to whip up light lunches and hearty dinners for your party. Carry the plates through to the sun room to dine at the table and look out over the marshes and dunes towards Walberswick and the harbour. A washing machine can be found in an outhouse. At the end of each fun-filled day, climb the stairs to a twin bedroom and a double, with TV. Both bedrooms have far-reaching views. The family bathroom is also up here. Dine out in the sunny garden as often as possible and sit out here as the sun goes down in the evening. There is off-road parking here for one car.
Amble down to the harbour to take the rowing boat ferry over to the village of Walberswick. Plan day trips out to places such as Covehithe, 5.5 miles away, with its beautiful beach and unusual ruined church with a smaller church inside. Dunwich, 9 miles away, is another picturesque place to visit along the Suffolk Heritage Coast.
