Escape to this gorgeous wood cabin right at the heart of the Suffolk countryside. Sleeping four guests, the single-storey, two-bedroom bolthole sits in its own verdant garden and overlooks a large pond. It is situated less than 1 mile from the village Otley and 7 miles from Woodbridge. Perfect for a small family or a romantic getaway for two, it is also well placed for Ipswich and Framlingham.

Climb the steps up to the deck and let yourselves into the chalet-style abode. The heart of this holiday home is its spacious, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which, like the rest of the accommodation still features its wooden walls. Kick back after your long days out by unwinding on the comfortable seating in front of the Smart TV or playing a game together. Prepare delicious meals in the kitchen area, which has everything you need to help you in your endeavours, then gather round the table to dine together or carry the dishes out into the sunshine. When you are ready to lay your head on your pillow, wander through to the king-size bedroom for a great night’s sleep. There is also a bunk bedroom that the children will adore and a family bathroom. Make the most of your private garden on fine days. Ensure the children are always supervised near the pond. There is parking here for one car.

Make trips into Woodbridge to wander its shopping streets and find an array of pubs, cafes and restaurants to dine out in. Visit the National Trust’s famous Sutton Hoo while you are here. This is where an Anglo-Saxon royal burial site was uncovered. Have a day out to Framlingham to see the splendid 12th-century castle. Head into the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to find picturesque walks and cycle rides.

We had a glorious holiday here. It was so easy to completely lose track of time. We spent hours watching the birds, dragonflies and bats over the pond. A muntjac deer came to visit us and we think there is a water vole nest too. The cabin had a well equipped kitchen and was very comfortable. We had a lovely time staying at the log cabin. The location was excellent for what we wanted to do which was walk. There were so many different places to explore right on the doorstep of the cabin. There was also a variety of wildlife to be viewed from it too. The welcome pack was very generous and gratefully received. We would definitely stay agaiRead moren. Hide

This was a lovely place to stay; well appointed, immaculately presented and an opportunity to enjoy beautiful walks in a part of Suffolk that is I suspect rarely chosen for a holiday. The farm of which it is a part manages the footpaths in its area really well and that from the cabin to Helmingham Hall is a hidden gem.
