Situated in the quiet and charming village of East Bergholt with countryside and riverside walks within easy reach, this is the perfect place to get away and escape from everyday life.

Located on the edge of Constable Country and ideal for a small family or couples looking for a base in which to explore both coast and countryside, this wonderfully presented lodge provides you with a great location in which to explore the very best of Suffolk. If you’re a fan of nature and wildlife, the property itself is nestled on the tip of the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty where walks and bird watching should be high on your agenda. Other local attractions within easy reach include the famous and spectacular Colchester Zoo, Jimmy’s Farm and Wildlife Park, RSPB Flatford Wildlife Garden and the Seaquarium located on the pier at Clacton-on-Sea.

Upon entering this wonderfully presented Scandinavian-style lodge, you benefit from a modern and open-plan style living, dining and kitchen area. As well as boasting gorgeous views out to the Dedham Vale AONB through the bifold doors which span across the front of the property, you also have everything indoors you need to entertain friends and family in comfort and style. The chef amongst you will have all you need to prepare a hearty meal in the kitchen. The lodge provides an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, coffee machine, dishwasher and washing machine so prepare a meal and head over to the dining table which can comfortably seat four guests, giving you the perfect spot to grab some breakfast, a light lunch or dinner while you talk about the adventures ahead with loved ones. The lounge is the pinnacle of relaxation with a comfortable sofa and chairs that surround a wood burner. The sizeable Smart TV allows you to enjoyably stream or watch your favourite shows, perhaps with the sunset providing a perfect backdrop. There are two bedrooms; the master bedroom has a double bed along with bedside tables, a chest of drawers and a coat rack to hang your more formal garments. The second bedroom is a twin bedroom (which can be made into a king size on request), again with drawers and a coat rack, so this property can accommodate a small family or two couples. The family bathroom has a bath, separate shower and WC so you can revitalise your senses after a good night's sleep before heading out to explore the local area and beyond.

Set within peaceful countryside, you couldn't get a better spot for enjoying your breakfast with freshly ground coffee, either al fresco style on the terrace with the table and chairs provided, or in the comfort of the lodge. With the sunset in the background, you'll be able to sink into the hot tub to recuperate after a day of fun and excitement. (For bookings between 1st November - 1st April each year the hot tub is available by arrangement with the owner prior to arrival) Finally, there is off-road private allocated parking for up to two cars.

The lodge has a lovely airy and luxurious feel about it and was walking distance to the Haywain and other lovely walks and cafes. It was clean and tidy. I would have preferred a firmer mattress on the double bed and ideally a king size.

Lovely appointed cottage, only downside was how hot it was! The doors open but theres no separate window to open, and so it got very stuffy when the sun was out. We would have had the doors open but were worried about the dog running off. Also once we opened the window in the double room we had a real hard time trying to close it. Other than that wRead moree had a lovely stay and enjoyed the cottage! Hide
