Aldeburgh and the surrounding area has inspired many authors and poets in the past but the most famous son of the town is Benjamin Britten, who founded the Aldeburgh Music Festival, which now has worldwide acclaim and is held every year in June at Snape Maltings. Fishermen still pull their colourful boats up on the shingle beach and sell fresh fish from the picturesque huts. The wide, mainly Georgian high street has many attractive buildings whilst the seafront properties all have commanding views of the beach and the North Sea. Boating is popular on the nearby Alde estuary where a large variety of yachts can be seen at summer weekends. Aldeburgh is also home to one of the oldest golf clubs in Suffolk.

We enjoyed our stay at LazyJacks. It is warm and comfortable, and has been thoughtfully decorated. Lovely walks to the delightful town of Aldeburgh and beach are easy from the cottage. Thorpeness is a good walk along the shingle beach, and there are places to stop for coffee and lunch. Many places in the area allowed us to bring in our dogs which was very convenient.
It was cosy with a lovely wood burner and you just had to relax It was quiet but only a short walk into town Certainly go again x
A very comfortable and well equipped property, in a great location with plenty of amenities close by - a highly recommended family getaway!
Property was very clean and well set up. Appreciated having some cooking bits e.g oil and vinegar plus tea bags etc to get us started. Netflix was an unexpected bonus as we stayed before May 17th so it was too cold to stay outside at the pubs etc.. Very handy for Tesco and Co-Op, and only a short walk into Aldeburgh itself. We enjoyed walking from the door along the footpaths.
