Fishermen still pull their colourful boats up on the shingle beach and sell fresh fish from the picturesque huts. The wide, mainly Georgian high street has many attractive buildings whilst the seafront properties all have commanding views of the beach and the North Sea. Boating is popular on the nearby Alde estuary where a large variety of yachts can be seen at summer weekends. Aldeburgh is also home to one of the oldest golf clubs in Suffolk and has the added benefit of two courses which is perfect for visitors of the local area.

Great week in early February in lovely Aldeburgh. Comfortable, well-appointed and convenient base. Very friendly town with great hospitality venues, local produce and shops. Wonderful big skies over the beach and sea.

Mr H,

Midsomer House is a beautifully designed property in a perfect location for the shops and the beach. All furniture, kitchen equipment linen are of high quality and the rooms are clean and very comfortable. We highly recommend this property and will definitely return.

Ms W,

Lovely new property , fully equipped with everything you could wish for. Electric car charging point was a bonus.

Mr M,

We loved our stay at Midsomer House. It is very comfortable, well equipped and attractively furnished. The patio garden is really lovely to sit in and enjoy the sun. It was spotlessly clean on arrival and the welcome pack was much appreciated. Aldeburgh is a fantastic town, we were spoilt for choice with the many good cafes and restaurants. The beach being so near to the house was a great bonus for popping over for a swim in the sea every morning. There’s a very good bakery a few minutes walk away for breakfast. We visited Southwold, Minsmere RSPB reserve, Orford, Snape Maltings and Cambridge on the way there and Clacton on the way home. We would definitely recommend and would love to return in the future.

Mrs M,
