After exploring your seaside surroundings, warm chilly toes by firing up the roaring wood burner housed inside an exposed brick fireplace in the homely lounge before unwinding weary walking muscles on the comfy sofas. Grab your delicious local produce and head into the contemporary kitchen to rustle up a hearty feast to feed to the crowd seated around the generous dining table in the adjoining light-filled conservatory. Climb the winding cottage staircase to marvel at glorious sea views from either the en-suite bedroom comprising the first floor or the second bedroom comprising the second floor before retiring for a well-earned rest before tomorrow’s adventure. Dine alfresco on the pretty patio in the lawned garden before unwinding in the sauna housed inside the summerhouse, which also features a sofa bed for two additional guests.

Set along the Suffolk coast, the former fishing village of Walberswick retains its Georgian charm and is famous for hosting the annual British open crabbing championships. Enjoy a bucket and spade day out at Walberswick Beach (less than 0.5 miles), backed by grassy dunes and surrounded by marsh and heathland in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Ramble along the Suffolk Coast Path or jump aboard the small seasonal ferry to the quintessentially seaside Southwold (8.5 miles) to take a scenic stroll along the beach hut-lined promenade before exploring the restaurants and cafes on the Victorian pier 8.5 miles away. The wildlife and rare habitats of RSPB Minsmere can be reached within 9 miles.
