Get away for a relaxing seaside break at this picture-perfect cottage in the heart of Southwold just metres from the town’s beach, pubs, and shops. With a ground floor bathroom, an enclosed courtyard, a double and twin bedrooms, it’s the ideal base for a fantastic family holiday.
The idyllic brick cottage has a charming nautical theme, with relaxing colours and comfy furnishings. Relax in the cosy living room after a fun day out, put the TV or a great film on, or play games together. On evenings in, cook delicious meals in the pretty kitchen/diner, with space to sit round the table together and plan the next day’s fun. The lovely, light shower room is also on the ground floor, and the two attractive bedrooms are up the cottage-style stairs on the first floor: a double and a twin, both are classically stylish. Head outside to the south-facing courtyard garden to soak up the summer sun with somewhere to sit and enjoy drinks and nibbles al fresco.
Head out straight from the front door to the Market Place to buy fresh produce from the small shops. Wander along the promenade past the colourful beach huts and visit the town’s historic lighthouse. Take the kids to the pier (0.5 miles) to play in the arcade, grab coffee, lunch or fish and chips, and experience the eccentric collection of machines at the Under the Pier Show. Kids will also love the Maize Maze and Play Park (2.5 miles), with a zip wire, maze and go karts. Head to the harbour (1.5 miles) and catch the foot ferry to Walberswick (summer only) to go crabbing; spend the day on the beach building sandcastles, paddling, and dozing, just over 150 metres away.
