The original Suffolk barn has been lovingly converted and restored, carefully combining traditional features with contemporary design. On the ground floor is a vast lounge/diner, with original wooden beams, a floor-to-ceiling picture window, and a cosy wood burner. A separate kitchen has all the equipment needed to rustle up tasty meals for the group. Upstairs, discover a galleried landing and four exquisite bedrooms, all boasting characterful exposed beams and stunning countryside views. Two of the bedrooms have en-suite shower rooms, and there’s also a family bathroom with a free-standing bath. Outside, enjoy al fresco meals on the sunny terrace, play games on the immaculate lawn, and challenge each other to table tennis matches in the barn.

Your nearest beach is at Shingle Street (6 miles), where you’ll find a remote stretch of pebble and shingle. This is a beautiful place for a quiet walk or a family picnic, with plenty of opportunities for spotting local wildlife (including seals, who often bask near the mouth of the estuary). For a more family-friendly beach with amenities, head to the popular seaside resort of Aldeburgh, just 18 miles along the coast. Heading inland, the historic town of Woodbridge makes a lovely day out, with its intriguing Georgian architecture, picturesque river, and regular outdoor markets.

Apart from the issues mentioned in the suggested improvements section above the barn is fantastic and we and our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. It was very well equipped, in a quiet location and close to many places of interest such as Sutton Hoo, Woodbridge, Bawdsey, Rendlesham Forest & a little further afield, Framlingham for its CastlRead moree, Walberswick for crabbing & Southwold for its many entertainments. Lovely barn conversion in a great spot, quiet and comfortable, we were a 3 generation family and all had a great time.

We enjoyed our 3 generation stay in Brand, which was very comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Outdoors under cover the table tennis and darts was welcome. It is ideally situated for visiting Sutton Hoo - 2 of our group walked back. Attached to Vancouver and Sewell it would make a good location for a large group.

Brand Barn is a lovely spacious property which is tastefully decorated and furnished. We love the quiet isolation of it and relaxed feel and look forward to returning again next summer.
