As you enter the cottage, you’ll find a large living area. The lounge/library flows into the dining area and then on to the kitchen. There’s a wood burner and French doors to the garden in the lounge/library so you can enjoy a story and sunshine or get cosy in the evenings. If you’d like to bring other guests, you can pull down a double bed so they can stay over – please mention this when booking. The downstairs is finished with a wood panel floor, lending a warm and welcoming atmosphere to the space. Head to the first floor to find your bedroom, a charmingly decorated double with a vaulted ceiling and an en-suite bathroom. You’ll see a gravel garden, enclosed by a fence and featuring a dining area and a shaded seating spot. Finally, visit the shepherd’s hut, a lovely space with a double bed, chairs and a pull-down table.

The cottage was perfect. It was very clean, cosy and comfortable. The garden was secure for the dogs who also loved it. It was central to the places we wanted to visit and it was great coming back from a day out to the quietness. The cottage was in a very tranquil area with great wildlife and the walks across the fields were great for our two labs. It was well equipped and very comfortable and it was a great base for travelling around suffolk. The owners were very friendly and accommodating, I would certainly return to this accommodation.

No Wi-Fi. Without this we were unable to access emails nor were we able to use our mobiles both of which were needed for work purposes. On returning we realised that the booking site had offered a list of requirements and we hadn't ticked that box. To be honest these days I think it would be good to highlight properties without Wi-Fi as most peopRead morele probably presume it will be there. Hide

Loved the cottage & location. So peaceful. Not to far to all the places we love to visit such as Dunwich & Orford. Owners friendly & helpful. Wildlife in garden wonderful to watch. Plenty of different birds to see & loved watching the antics of baby rabbits in the garden. Hope to go back there again before too long.

An excellent stay at the Barn Owl retreat. The only negative was that there was no wi-fi available and this point was repeated multiple times from other guests who mentioned this in the comments book.
