Enjoy your own private oasis in a tranquil corner of vibrant Woodbridge when you stay at this welcoming cottage. Sleeping four guests, the three-bedroom retreat comes with a sunny, south-facing garden. From here you can stroll out to explore independent shops, galleries and boutiques and dine out in gastro-pubs and restaurants. The property also makes an excellent base for heading out into the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Open the front door and carry the fresh Suffolk provisions you have bought in town into the kitchen/diner. Unpack them then make yourself a cup of tea to enjoy at the table, with the French doors open to bring in a summer breeze. Find everything you need to help you prepare dinner in here too then call your party to join you. Spend cosy evenings in with the wood burner roaring and a good film on the TV in the lounge. There is also a WC downstairs. When the sun goes down and you are ready to head up to bed, head up to the king-size bedroom, which has an en-suite shower room, with underfloor heating, or one of the two singles. The family bathroom, also with underfloor heating, is also on the first floor. Unwind out in the generous courtyard garden whenever the weather is fine. Dine out here too and open a bottle of chilled wine on balmy evenings. There is a narrow parking space for one car.

Stroll 350 metres to the Woodbridge Tide Museum to see a working example of a mill with a turning water wheel. Book river boat trips out along the Deben from the jetty, just under 0.5 miles away. Spend an afternoon at Sutton Hoo, 3 miles away, walking through the grounds where an Anglo-Saxon royal burial site was discovered.

We have had a wonderful stay in Snipe Cottage. The cottage is beautifully decorated and stylishly accessorised with calm colours and stunning paintings of Woodbridge Tide Mill and other local picturesque places. It was really spacious upstairs and downstairs and having the table outside so near to the back patio doors was really useful. We arrivedRead more and there was an amazing bag of goodies for us. (Thank you). The property was so well equipped, clean, and included was a mid stay clean and change of linen - all very much appreciated. It was a really good base for visiting Felixstowe beach and paddle boarding at Deben and we enjoyed strolling down to the nearby estuary regularly and visiting the local museum. We came home feeling very refreshed. Snipe Cottage is the nicest accommodation we have ever stayed in. Thank you. Hide

Snipe cottage is probably one of the best holiday rentals in Woodbridge for position and access to every facility. Believe me I have looked at dozens of properties in Woodbridge and many holiday companies. Uniquely it has its own parking space on a private area right in front of the property. The property is tucked away behind the main shopping Read morestreet but you would not know it if you were sitting in the secluded, private, sunny, walled back garden which looks out onto mature trees and one chimney pot. It is so quiet and peaceful. In less than a minute you can be on the high street, or the bus station or supermarket. You are only 5 minutes walk from the historic Tide Mill and river and from the boat shed where they are recreating the famous Sutton Hoo burial ship. You are also only a few minutes walk from a garden centre, any number of cafes and restaurants and the train station which takes you to Lowestoft or Ipswich and any number of small villages. You can spend a whole week and never need to use a car because of the places you can visit by walking or using the bus or train. I have given top marks for everything apart from the equipment at the property, specifically the garden furniture which is dreadful. It was so green we bought blankets to put on the chairs. It is also rickety and any varnish or preservative on the wood has long disappeared so it cannot be washed. You pay quite a sum to stay at this property with a lovely Sunny garden but the garden furniture needs to be replaced badly. Hide
