It’s the perfect base for keen walkers, with endless routes from your front door, including along the River Alde and through the wildlife haven of Snape Warren. Nearby day trips include the fascinating archaeological site at Sutton Hoo (9.5 miles) and the popular seaside resorts of Aldeburgh (5.5 miles) and Southwold (18.5 miles).

This is a wonderful, quirky, and captivating house. We loved the first floor lounge with balcony and the large main bedroom with lovely views of the garden and fields to the rear. Our first ever visit to Suffolk certainly didn't disappoint. Our home-from-home for a weeks was a delightful cosy and extremely comfortable studio-cottage furnished with fascinating artworks, not to mention the well-stocked lending library! Every day there was something new to explore -- Orford, Sutton Hoo, Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Britten's Red HousRead moree, Snape Maltings, Southwold, Ickworth, Bury St Edmunds. Our final fish supper was at the Butley Orford Oysterage, just the best! We so enjoyed relaxing in Albion's sun-bathed sitting-room and will retain happy memories of our stay in the studio-cottage. The owners supply a welcome pack of basics - milk, bread, eggs, butter, fruit - and are next door in the Artist's Studio. Next door to that was Britten's home before he moved to Aldeburgh. Our 2nd stay in Albion House, and nothing disappointed! The weather was amazing, but stayed cool by the coast. The welcome pack was very much appreciated yet again. The books gave us lots of choices to enjoy during the evenings. A concert at Snape Maltings was very enjoyable as was the starling murmuration when we came out.
