This romantic bolthole is surrounded by picturesque countryside in the idyllic village of Snape. It’s the perfect base for keen walkers, with endless routes from your front door, including along the River Alde and through the wildlife haven of Snape Warren. Nearby day trips include the fascinating archaeological site at Sutton Hoo (9.5 miles) and the popular seaside resorts of Aldeburgh (5.5 miles) and Southwold (18.5 miles).
The three-storey period cottage has been beautifully decorated and furnished to complement the original style of the property. On the ground floor you’ll find the attractive kitchen/diner, where you can whip up tasty dishes and dine together around the elegant table. Heading up to the first floor, you’ll find an inviting bedroom that can be made up as a twin or a super-king-size. The bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and there’s also a separate shower room. The gorgeous lounge is on this level and boasts magnificent views across open countryside. Cottage-style stairs take you to a peaceful attic room (watch out for the restricted head height in some areas), where you can read, write, paint, practice yoga, or simply enjoy the fabulous views with a cup of coffee. Alfresco dining can be enjoyed in the leafy front garden or on the first-floor balcony.
Spend the afternoon at Snape Maltings (0.5 miles), exploring the high-end boutiques, galleries, and eateries. The complex hosts music events throughout the year, including a month-long festival during the summer. The countryside surrounding Snape Maltings is beautiful; take river trips from the quayside or set out on foot along the tranquil tracks and trails that branch away from the complex. For a traditional day at the seaside, head to Southwold, where you can have a picnic on the beach, play games on the pier, and amble along the colourful promenade.
