This superb property, situated less than 150 metres from Southwold Beach, is the perfect romantic hideaway for two. Sleeping you both in a tranquil double bedroom with sea views from every window, this ground-floor apartment is an opportunity to embrace coastal living and take advantage of everything that Southwold has to offer. Head down to the Under the Pier Show (350 metres) for a fascinating arcade experience you won’t get anywhere else, before heading into the town centre (500 metres from the property) for a bite to eat at one of the many cafes, restaurants or pubs.

The holiday home, which sits on the end of a terraced street along the seafront, is spacious and welcoming. The shaker-style kitchen is fresh and bright with a delightful farmhouse feel, while panoramic views of the sea and pier and soft lighting in the lounge make it a cosy haven to relax in whatever the time of day. Snuggle up on the sofas, one of which is a sofa bed, and wind down with some TV after a long day of exploring the area. The bedroom adds a boutique charm to your stay; fall asleep among calming, neutral decor and wake up to the sound of the waves.

Take a stroll down to Walberswick (1.5 miles), using the foot ferry to cross the River Blyth, and enjoy a drink at one of the cafes or pubs. For a longer walk, visit rugged Dunwich Heath (11 miles), where you can walk along the cliffs, heathland and beach. If you like your boutique shops, Snape Maltings (19 miles) is the place to visit, but there are plenty of unique shops to browse in Southwold too. Somerleyton Hall (17 miles) and neighbouring Fritton Lake are also well worth a visit.

Every year we visit 12 Craighurst as a birthday getaway, I"m a Pisces so I love to see the sea & hear the waves. We have been visiting Southwold for the last 10 years and the Craighurst is a perfect location for me. Have booked my 2027 birthday trip already

The property is in a prime position, with excellent sea views. It is comfortable and well appointed. Does need access to WiFi. As local Internet access did not connect at any time during the week.

Whilst the flat is in a great position, is comfortable and spacious it was spoilt by poor equipment. The fridge didn't work properly as we had sour milk and cream after 2 days both well within use by dates. Freezer was fine. Response from holidaycottages.co.uk: Thank you for your review. A well appointed and comfortable flat. Everything we needed was there. A fabulous view, Southwold never fails on that score. Shower very good and a good mattress on the bed. The lack of Internet access has been an issue for many, ourselves included. Southwold free WiFi availability was poor and obviously not secure.

We had a great 5 days in comfortable and clean accommodation. The location meant we were able to walk out of the door and start our hikes around Southwold and area on the promenade alongside the sea.

We found the cottage to be clean and comfortable and a perfect base for walking in the Southwold Area. The lack of internet was mentioned by several previous guests but was not that important to us. Also the scaffolding for repairing the balcony of the apartment above but that really can't be helped. We have booked to come again.

We stayed 3 nights in 12 Craigside, the location was excellent. The view from our lounge and bedroom overlooked the sea, the beach was just across the road. There was scaffolding out side our bedroom window due to the fact the balcony for the upstairs flat had been removed and we assumed being replaced. Great location and size for 1 bed property but even with last minute discount this was still felt very expensive for what it was. The flat didnt feel thoroughly clean and we had lots of little issues (no plug for kitchen sink, fridge freezer switched off upon arrival, leaking shower screen which soaked the bathroom floor to name a few). A shame aRead mores the place has such potential but needs some TLC. Hide

Fantastic location across the road from the beach and in between the pier and high street area; parking was pretty busy on the beach road but we always managed to find somewhere close. We had seen a number of comments about the scaffolding outside of the apartment blocking the view but not sure what view it was blocking aside from a small restrictRead moreion out of one of the bedroom windows, so we were happy that we had took a chance and ignored this as we didn't consider this to be a problem at all. Inside the apartment was a great size, particularly the living room and kitchen / dinning area - very light and airy. This was our first time visiting Southwold and the Suffolk coast area and would not hesitate in staying here again, particularly if we get the same weather!!! Hide

Nice flat, good sea view from all but the bedroom window due to scaffolding which is not being moved anytime soon. It also blocks off the outside seating area. Kitchen well equipped. Comfy bed. Bathroom smells damp due to a leaky shower screen.
