Settle into this quirky couple’s bolthole for a memorable getaway in a converted mill from the 1700s with round rooms, wooden beamed ceilings and English country decor. While away your time on romantic nature walks and lazy beach days in the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty before hunkering down in the cosy lounge with a winding staircase or dining alfresco with a bottle of bubbly in the tranquil garden.

Approaching this property you’ll be struck by the unique shape of the exterior – which resembles a tower of a castle. Step inside to discover the unique circular lounge/diner with a splash of elegant pinks, two plump sofas, an intimate dining table with chairs plus a TV. Cook a meal for two in the bright ‘L’-shaped kitchen decorated with shades of green and plenty of natural light streaming through the skylights, large windows and glass patio door. Completing the ground floor is a bathroom. Climb the wooden, curved staircase to reach the chic double bedroom with an en-suite. Outside is a patio with furniture.

During your stay in the large countryside village of Wickham Market, you’ll have a handful of shops and restaurants within 1 mile. Browse the selection of plants at the nearby garden centre (1 mile) or fill your day with history at the Bentwaters Cold War Museum (5.5 miles). Head into the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for some bird watching at the RSPB Boyton and Hollesley Marshes (10.5 miles) and follow the nature trails at National Trust Orford Ness (11 miles). Spend a day at Sudbourne Beach (13 miles) and wander along the seafront to reach the quaint town of Aldeburgh (12.5 miles) which is full of Tudor-style architecture.

A beautiful property set in a very pretty garden. Welcoming owners, good welcome - pack and ample on site parking. Wickham Market has a good range of shops and there are larger supermarkets within a reasonable distance. A good centre for touring the area, which is very pretty. A winter retreat is what we wanted and that is exactly what we had. Sampsons Mill is in a beautiful location with wonderful views of the sunrises from the bedroom windows. We didnt venture far from the mill during our stay due to snow and ice. Walking into the town/village of Wickham Market was enough to enjoy our surroundings. Lovely unusual little cottage. Kitchen fully tooled for our own catering and exciting to be able to watch the stars whilst doing so. Village only a short stroll away and walks in all directions available from the door. A great hide-away.

Sampson's Mill is an excellent, quirky holiday property set in a traditional Suffolk village location. The owners were very friendly and helpful and we wouldn't hesitate to return in the future.

A wonderful setting for a Suffolk holiday in an unusual building. The mill was very well equipped with everything we needed and comfortably furnished. Set in a stunning location on the edge of the village, near the owners home. This unique cottage is very well equipped and furnished to a high standard. It`s quirky and very cosy and an ideal getaway for two people. The village has every thing you need. The upstairs toilet was a bonus. The cottage was in a quiet part of the village, but was in easy reach for the shops. When we arrived the owners were in there garden and greeted us with a very warm welcome. There was a nice welcome pack so we could have a hot drink after the drive. The cottage was very comfortable and warm and ready for our week stay. Sampson mill is a wonderful place to stay, so unique and very quiet. It is perfect for a couple and really well equipped. It is in a great location with lots a places to visit only a short drive or a cycle ride away. We spent a wonderful week there exploring the fantastic local area.
