Experience the nostalgic appeal of Southwold and the beauty of the Suffolk coast from this exquisite cottage in the seaside town. Sleeping three guests, the picture-postcard, two-bedroom hideaway nestles in a courtyard near the high street, with its myriad of interesting independent shops and eateries. Stroll just 500 metres down to the sandy beach.
Open the front door to the pretty cottage and enter via the red front door. Find yourselves immediately in the welcoming lounge, where you can sink back into the comfortable seating to unwind and discuss your day. Lay a log in the wood burner in here on chilly evenings and settle down to watch your favourite programmes on the Smart TV. As evening approaches, choose a book from the shelf and open a bottle of wine. The kitchen/diner is well appointed, encompassing everything you need to cater for yourselves with the Suffolk produce you shop for in town. Dine together at the round table on those occasions you choose not to eat out. Once night has fallen, carefully climb the cottage-style stairs to your beautiful bedrooms on the first floor. Here, you have a sumptuous king-size bed, where you are certain to enjoy a great night’s sleep, plus a single bedroom, with an additional single trundle bed, if required. The family bathroom is also here, with a tub for long soaks and a shower to rinse off the salt and sand. There is no outside seating space with this cottage, but there is storage for bicycles. Parking is on the street, subject to availability.
Walk 0.5 miles from the cottage to the celebrated pier, with its quirky under-the-pier show. Amble 1 mile down to the harbour to go crabbing and buy freshly landed seafood. Plan a day trip to the quieter beach of Covehithe, 5 miles away.
