Explore the tranquil waterways of Suffolk from a charming lodge on the banks of the scenic Oulton Broad. This cosy, single-storey bolthole, set within a holiday park, sleeps four guests and two dogs. It is perfect for those who love being afloat, whether on a boat, paddleboard or canoe, and is a peaceful haven for walkers. Circular boat trips aboard the Waveney Princess offer a grandstand view of this beautiful landscape, known as the gateway to the Broads National Park. The seaside resort of Lowestoft with its golden beaches and a wealth of attractions is just 2.5 miles away.

Take three steps up to your holiday home and enter a spacious and charmingly furnished open-plan living space. The airy lounge features comfortable sofas and a TV, with patio doors opening onto a private outdoor terrace. All the catering utensils you might need are to hand in the stylish kitchen, alongside a dining table. To the rear, there’s a sleek family shower room and two inviting bedrooms, comprising a double and a single. Outside, the enclosed, raised terrace houses garden furniture, while on-site extras include a shared swimming pool (charges apply), restaurant and bar. There is private parking for two cars.

The park itself is a great location and well maintained throughout. This lodge was in a great private area and couldnt fault the cleanliness inside. Park was so quiet and lovely considerate neighbours. We stayed for a few days during a heatwave however found no fan provided, winter duvets on beds and the towel rail on permanent heat. We found it unRead morebearable. The decking didnt look like it had been swept/cleaned as still autumn leaves out there. We got eaten alive by midges as had no choice but to leave bedroom window open at night. This could be a lovely place just a few more comforts needed if you were going to stay for more than a couple nights Hide

The lodge was lovely but lacked those finishing touches - more drawer space needed, no microwave dishes. The freezer had not been cleaned and contained defrosted food. I rang holiday cottages straight away, the man I spoke to said he would get someone to put it right . No one came. There was a message on my landline when I got home asking me to coRead morentact them, how did they think I could answer my phone !!!! I have made a formal complaint. Towela and beds/bed linen were very good. Hide

Arrived in the dark.no parking available, outside lights by door not working, heating not on and no information booklet on how it works , needs a good clean , water had a horrible smell , heater in hall didnt work , freezer was filthy and cutlery was dirty, decking we cleaned as full of rubbish and leaves , going forward I would suggest a informationRead more booklet on a da deep clean , we went between Christmas and new year with our 2 dogs , not ideal if you want to get away from the fireworks, we came home early. Response from holidaycottages.co.uk: Thank you for your review. We can confirm all the points raised have now been rectified. We appreciate your feedback. Hide

It was a lovely lodge/caravan in a very private location on the park site. Great place to take a dog. A short walk to the Marina and the park where there were events happening during our stay which we enjoyed. Recommend the river cruise and the wildlife sanctuary.

Arrived late afternoon, no toilet paper, no mini complementary soap and only 1 small bath towel between the 2 of us. No hand towels or tea towels and no cleaning products, not even a bin bag. Large built in fridge freezer not working, old small free standing fridge unit stood next to settee taking up room and barely adequate for 2 people. AdveRead morertised with Wi-Fi, no instructions, most of the time we were lucky if we could get a basic 3G signal on our mobiles. If you are considering renting this property make sure that you take all the basics with you. Tried twice to contact Holiday Cottages from the property, without success, signal too bad. No phone number given on paperwork for owner. Almost lost the will to live, so gave it up. At just over 800 for a weeks stay for 2 people, it was poor value for money. Thank you for your review. Weve spoken to the owner and the issue has now been resolved. Hide

This lodge is nearly new, and was clean and ready on our arrival. Unfortunately it does not have internet access, nor a view of Oulton Broad. It has no information pack, no hand towels, no tea towels, no cleaning cloths or materials, no bin liners. It has no casserole or other ovenware, no bread bin, no butter dish, no water jug or gravy boat. TherRead moree was inadequate cutlery, and totally useless scissors and vegetable knife. Thank you for your review. We can confirm that we will discuss this with the owner. Hide
