Elm Gables is a lovely, comfortable, well-appointed family home in the most wonderful location. We stayed with my step-mother, who is in her 70s and my teenage son and his friend. Everyone had space and comfort. Theres a wonderful conservatory with a large dining table for relaxed meals and board games, as well as a very nice dining set and shade iRead moren the garden, along with BBQ. The garden surrounds the house and is perfect for badminton, kicking a ball around or just sitting in a comfy chair and whiling away the afternoon with a good book. Having two sitting rooms was perfect for us. The kitchen is well equipped but there are several places to eat in the village, from the very nice Anchor pub and Black Dog deli (great coffee and pastries) to the more casual Tea Shed which does great brunches, if you dont fancy cooking. The beach is just a short walk down the road, as is an internationally renowned crabbing spot. The walk across the causeway into Southwold is about a mile but you can also take the last rowing ferry in Britain, so exploration at all levels is possible. The housekeeper and host are helpful and responsive. I cant recommend it highly enough. You will have a wonderful holiday here. Hide

We found the cottage to be lovely, very clean, well equipped, and in a great location. However there was a main issue for us. Having an enclosed garden is a priority as we have two small dogs (Border Terriers). Due to the gaps on the gate and along much of the fence we did not trust that the garden was secure. We did try to block some of thRead moree gaps but were not sure if we found them all. Other than that we were happy with our stay. Hide

Had all the facilities you would want for a family stay. Decorated for us for Christmas which was a lovely touch. Location within Walberswick was great, we were able to throw away the car keys, and enjoy walking around the village and the beaches. The shops and pubs are all within easy reach, and popping over to Southwold on the local ferry was greRead moreat. Hide

A great location in the village and the house felt like home from home. We only stayed 2 nights but will return for a longer stay. House is very well equipped and I am sure the garden would be delightful for spending time in the summer. Lots to do within walking distance, deli, pubs, walks and general relaxation. Thank you.

Beautiful house and garden in a peaceful village setting. Facilities were excellent and all needs were catered for. We loved the style and furnishings of the house, it had a really comfortable 'family' feel to it. We had a brilliant week and would definitely stay again at Elm Gables!
