Enjoying a remote location in the Suffolk countryside, this magnificent, family-friendly property is a luxurious and quiet place to escape to with your nearest and dearest, plus the pooch in tow. Whilst its rural location offers walks and bike rides right from the doorstep, the property is just 6 miles from the picturesque town of Framlingham and 20 miles from Suffolk’s heritage coast, offering the perfect base from which to explore this charming region of the UK.

Elevated to the highest of standards, enjoy the charming combination of original features mixed with contemporary touches throughout. The social heart of the home is the spacious and airy kitchen/diner, the perfect place to regroup. The light and bright kitchen boasts all you need to cook a feast for the household, who can gather at the large breakfast table to enjoy the chef’s work. After food, find plenty of space to unwind for the evening, starting in the main sitting room with its comfy seating, crackling wood burner and Smart TV. Alternatively, relax in one of the reception rooms, complete with another wood burner and more sumptuous seating. When it’s time for bed, climb the winding staircase to find three luxurious bedrooms; a super-king-size room with an en-suite bathroom, and two inviting double rooms that benefit from a well-appointed shower room. Outside, find peace in the expansive and verdant garden that awaits, with plenty of room for little ones and pooches to play safely, whilst older guests enjoy an evening tipple as they prepare the charcoal BBQ.

With the River Deben running through it, nearby Debenham (4 miles) is a delightful village with all your required amenities and walking. Find a little bit more going on in the larger towns of Eye (8 miles) and Framlingham, the latter with an impressive 12th-century castle.

Hill Cottage is a historic, characterful house which has been converted with great taste and attention to detail. It is generous and very comfortable to stay in if you dont mind period details like low beams and a sloping floor upstairs - we loved it. It has extensive gardens and lovely surrounding countryside to explore. It was so peaceful listeniRead moreng to bird song and looking across the valley at sunset. Stephen couldnt have been more helpful sorting out an issue with one of the showers. We had a fabulous week and will probably come back. Hide

Neither sitting room had enough seating for 6 people we were only 4 and managed by moving the chairs between rooms. The baking trays were not, clean 1 was very greasy. We had to ask the caretaker for clean towels and bedlinen for ) our 2nd week. We were 4 adults all over 80yrs old and the wooden spiral staircase (the only staircase) was a major cRead morehallenge to two of us. The staircase was NOT mentioned in your Overview of the property. Such a peaceful and remote location for a holiday. We loved just relaxing in the garden. The secure garden-and attached field was perfect for our dog.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hill Cottage. Beds very comfortable. Lovely light open plan kitchen dining room, well equipped. A second reception room nice to just read in front of the wood burner and chill. Lounge cosy with another wood burner we didn't use much but nice to have. The garden was really special lots of places to sit outside, BBQRead more and enjoy the sunsets especially looking out over the field. We saw lots of wildlife. The cottage is by itself with good walks from the house. Very good Butchers and grocery shop in Earl Soham. Steven the caretaker was very friendly and helpful. One of the best cottages we have stayed in, would highly recommend. Hide

This is the perfect cottage, I would change nothing about it! If anything the website doesnt do the property justice. We all simply loved the house, the decor, the quirky touches and surrounding area just a little slice of English heaven. We make a point to stay in (what we consider) fabulous accommodation UK at least once a year. A couple of yRead moreear ago we stayed at Hunsett Mill, one of the most sought after and well publicised rental houses in the UK. This is better in every way, my only real complaint is that we had to leave and I doubt the owners will ever sell me the house so we will just have to come back. Shout out to Peter who we met as we left, our hats off to the man behind the scenes, what a stage manager! Hide

Lovely cottage in a secluded and tranquil location. Very well equipped although mobile service on EE network was poor. Low beams in bedrooms might be a source of irritation to anyone over 6' tall but wonderfully quirky for short people! Large kitchen/diner great for family get togethers. Garden dog proof which was a bonus. Would definitely booRead morek again. Hide
