Brimming with quintessential cottage charm, this countryside escape features a secluded outdoor space and is ideally situated on the outskirts of Woodbridge. Outdoor enthusiasts, leisure lovers, and four-pawed adventurers alike are sure to delight in a retreat to this relaxing abode. Crunch over leaves on the light-dappled woodland trails of the Woodbridge Nature Walk (3 miles), then soak up the afternoon sun from the patio as you graze through a snack board.

This cottage is the perfect rural escape with warm terracotta tones, original wooden flooring, and antique-style furnishings. Step through the stable door into the traditional shaker kitchen with wooden worktops. Stash away outdoor gear in the utility room, then potter as you cook up an evening feast. Rope in an assistant to set the polished dining table then crack open the bubbly and mark your special occasion with a celebratory evening soiree. After dinner, retreat to the workspace to let the creative flow or congregate for a post-adventure debrief in the lounge. Browse the bookshelf or stretch out on the soft sofas with a movie. On balmy evenings, prop open the patio doors and venture outside to blether beneath the stars. Upstairs, discover three bright bedrooms, each with cosy soft furnishings. Choose from an elegant double, an airy single, and an adaptable single with a pull-out bed. Outdoors, furry friends and little ones can roam free on the enclosed lawn while you dish up an al fresco breakfast spread on the patio.

Soak in the mystical Anglo-Saxon burial site of Sutton Hoo (500 metres) from the viewing tower then discover the archaeological delights of Tranmer House. Pack a picnic and stroll the glistening shoreline of Shingle Street Beach (7.5 miles) then refuel with a tipple on the waterfront of Orford Quay (10.5 miles).

A lovely cottage, perfectly sited for woodland and river walks. It had everything we needed and there was plenty of space and a secure garden for our Labradors to chill out after a busy day exploring.

The cottage had just about everything we needed for a lovely stay. It was clean, comfortable and well furnished and the tea and coffee tray when we arrived and delicious brioche and dog biscuits were very welcome.

The cottage was fine for our purposes. The garden and garden furniture were disappointing. Parts of the house were dusty and untouched. The furniture was old and tired. The bathroom facilities were good and the beds were comfortable.

A good size holiday cottage, placed between Sutton Hoo and the golf course at Woodbridge (both of which have public footpaths for dog walks). A pretty part of the world to visit, near heaths/commons, woodland/forrest and shingle beaches. The beds were comfy, kitchen was well equipped, light living room with a nice fireplace (not used as it was JunRead moree), a good size garden but the fence is mostly picket to waist height (so only really suitable for smaller dogs unsupervised as there is a main road at the back). Access is by a private drive, which is best suited to a 4x4 type car - you wouldnt want to take a low slung car down it. Good it has its own parking and its pretty secluded. The area is generally quiet, you cant hear the road in the house and its good to see the stars. Woodbridge is nearby with lots of facilities, and the Plough at Sutton is great for proper home cooked food. There are other fancier gastro type pubs about, which arent our thing. We enjoyed our break, and would recommend the accommodation. Hide

The Cottage proved to be the ideal base for exploring Suffolk. Its location was fantastic, with walks accessible right from the doorstep, including one across the road to the historic Sutton Hoo site. The cottage itself was comfortable and well-equipped, providing everything we needed for a relaxing stay. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Sutton Heath a mile away with miles of tracks to walk. Rendlesham Forest just a short drive and again miles and miles of paths to walk. Local pubs all very dog fRead moreriendly.
