This stunning holiday home is in the historic town of Halesworth, close to its fabulous array of shops and eateries. The spacious property sleeps five guests and suits both families and groups of friends looking to explore this picturesque corner of Suffolk. You’ll be just 9.5 miles from the coast and also within easy reach of the southern edge of the Broads (12 miles). In the evenings, relax in the pretty garden or snuggle up by the wood burner in the lounge.

This quirky cottage has bags of personality, with period features, statement wallpapers, and vibrant paintwork. Relax in the cosy lounge, where an exposed brick fireplace housing a roaring wood burner takes centre stage; curl up in the armchair by the window, or stretch out on the sofa to watch the Smart TV. From here, steps lead down to the colourful kitchen/diner, where you can gather on the bench seating around the dining table for mealtimes as a group. On a summer’s day, open the patio doors to extend the social space outside. The cottage has a ground-floor small double bedroom. The remaining bedrooms and family bathroom are upstairs. Outside, an attractive, enclosed garden awaits, with a lawn and a patio area for al fresco dining.

The pretty market town of Halesworth has a great range of independent shops in its pedestrianised shopping area, known as Thoroughfare. You’ll also find many cafes, pubs, and restaurants to refuel in after a day of retail therapy. Heading to the coast, you’ll find the traditional seaside town of Southwold (9.5 miles), where you can relax on the sandy beach or take a stroll along the promenade. From Southwold, a foot ferry takes you across to the idyllic village of Walberswick.

This is a beautifully decorated, comfortable cottage. Because it is old and quirky, there are a few steps to navigate. As a dog owner the garden and incredibly close field walk were just wonderful for Lettie our cavapoo.

I rented this cottage for myself and my dog. I come to Halesworth twice a year and like to see friends and relatives and have some overnight guests. This cottage suited me well. It is at the end of Chediston Street, well positioned for good country walks, but still only a ten minute or less walk into town, and probably about fifteen to the station.Read more The house is delightfully quirky and on a number of levels so there are a lot of short stairways, and quite low ceilings. The garden is enclosed and was safe for my dog. The owners live next door and I found them friendly and helpful. Hide

This is one of the most disappointing properties we have stayed in. All of the linen needs replacing - its old and tired - duvets, pillows, duvet covers, pillowcases and towels. The china is sparse, mismatched and some of it is chipped. The cutlery cheap and the knives blunt. We texted a question to the owners when we arrived on the Saturday about Read more7pm and we received a reply at 9.30am the following morning. Poor. The cottage has numerous cobwebs on light fittings throughout and the ground floor bedroom is gloomy. This cottage is described as quirky - we know Suffolk very well and have stayed in quirky places - none have been like this. We would not recommend. Halesworth, however, is a perfect location for visiting many of the beautiful places around. The fenced garden is good for dogs and the hot water and heating efficient. Response from holidaycottages.co.uk: Thank you for your review. We can confirm that we will discuss this with the owner. Hide

Internal layout very confusing as kitchen equipment in two separate areas which makes it time consuming. Downstairs has 3 levels. No complaints regarding decor.

Fabulous split level cottage, beautifully decorated throughout, secure garden for the 4 legged family members and a short stroll to open countryside or the town centre. Perfectly situated to explore the Suffolk coastline. We had the best time.

This is an amazing place to stay. We loved the quirkiness and decor of this well-equiped character cottage. Whilst it is located in a quiet area, it is close enough to walk into town or enjoy some beautiful countryside walks too. The enclosed private garden is a real bonus, especially if you have dogs. The off-road parking is convenient. If you'Read morere over 5' 10", be prepared to duck through doorways! We would definitely stay again if we are returning to the area. Hide

This is an incredible find which we liked so much we have now stayed here twice. Perfectly located on the outskirts of a charming village yet on a quiet one way street void of any traffic to speak of but also within short walking distance to the village centre. Off street parking, which I personally find very important, is available at this house.Read more Beautifully furnished and decorated to a high standard. A well laid out kitchen with all appliances clean and in good order. An efficient shower and bath on the first floor with a copious hot water supply. Compfy beds, cosy rooms, I could type endlessly on how great a find this wee house is but quite honestly, it is just fabulous. Hide

Ideal location for visiting local beauty spots on the coast (20 mins drive) and walking into the local town - plenty of butchers, bakers, grocers, coffee shops. Would definitely return!
