The ground floor also houses a handy utility room, and a separate study with dual computer screens and superfast broadband, should you need to catch up on work whilst away. The historic market town of Saxmundham is 3.5 miles away and has a great range of independent shops and eateries. The Friday Street Market is very close (0.5 miles) and a great place for picking up delicious local produce for your supper (with an excellent fish monger, butcher and cheese room). The heritage site at Snape Maltings (4 miles) makes a fantastic day out. As well as a plethora of high-end shops and restaurants to peruse, you’ll also find a concert hall, art galleries, and stunning walking trails through the surrounding Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You’ll also be close to the ancient town of Framlingham (7 miles), where history enthusiasts will enjoy a visit to the iconic 12th-century castle on the hill. Heading east, you’ll soon reach the Suffolk coast and the popular seaside resort of Aldeburgh. Take a stroll along its picturesque, pebble beach, before heading into the town to explore the cute boutiques and galleries and sample some delicious local seafood in one of the many restaurants.
