During your stay in the heart of the Edwardian seaside town of Aldeburgh, you’ll have an array of cosy cafes, seafood restaurants and independent shops on your doorstep (within 0.5 miles) as well as a museum, Tudor-style buildings and a garden centre. Pack a picnic and set off for a day on Aldeburgh Beach (500 metres), or stroll along the seafront to the River Alde and Sudbourne Beach (1 mile). Further afield is the Captain’s Wood nature reserve (11 miles) and National Trust Orford Ness National Nature Reserve (12 miles). While you’re in the area, the 14th-century Leiston Abbey ruins (6 miles) is a must-see.
