For a luxury riverside holiday in a truly dreamy setting, stay at this stately lodge on the banks of the Waveney River. It’s in Beccles, a charming market town located at the start of the Broads National Park which is ripe for exploration on foot or by boat. Spend your days getting lost in the Suffolk countryside, indulging in aquatic adventures like boating and water sports or enjoying sunny days out by the sea (9 miles). The property has its own private mooring, so you can even arrive by boat if you wish! With space for up to four guests over its two bedrooms – and one dog welcome, too, this beautifully decorated property would suit two holidaying couples perfectly.

The accommodation, recently restored, offers contemporary open-plan living with a high-standard kitchen and spacious lounge/diner. A pleasant seating area sits next to attractive curved windows offering fantastic views over the landscaped garden – a lovely spot to relax with a nice cuppa. There’s a dining table for eating together, with everything beautifully presented. Outside, a stunning walled garden with a large lawn awaits. Enjoy early-evening drinks on the furnished patio as you watch the boats float by; this is a true haven in an idyllic setting. Your private mooring is ideal for launching paddleboards, canoes or kayaks – however you want to travel and relax!

Beccles has plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a lovely lido, all within 0.5 miles. Wildlife lovers will love spotting otters, kingfishers, barn owls, and hawks along the riverbank locally, and for even more opportunities to see rare birds, can take their binoculars for some birdwatching at RSPB Minsmere (17 miles away). For a traditional British seaside experience, the Victorian resort of Southwold is a 12-mile drive.

Well located in this lovely town of Beccles. Beautiful well-kept property and and well-equipped too. Access from the road no problem for a small/medium sized car, but could be a little tricky for a larger vehicle.

Well presented cottage in a fabulous location with the rear garden leading down to the river Waveney. Beautiful bedrooms both en-suite with views of the river. Set back from the road so a quiet location. Two good size private parking spaces which is a big plus for Beccles. All amenities within easy walking distance.

Entrance to cottage incredibly tight; I understand by talking to people around the cottage, most people have scratched their car on the concrete bollards, including us.

This is our second visit. It is a wonderful bungalow to hire right on the river. Watching the different water sports on the river kept us busy all week. Little cruiser motor boats, bigger cruisers, kayaks, canoes, paddle boarders and rowing boats to name but a few. The wild life was in abundance. We even saw the otter sometimes! The bungalow is welRead morel equipped, cosy and feels like home. Outside space was also well equipped. The BBQ was the best one my Husband had ever used, so he was in his element! The outside chairs were comfortable along with nice tables and a good functioning umbrella. Top marks all round. Thank you to the owners for a fantastic week. The town of Beccles is minutes away with a large Tesco store if you need it. All the little shops were nice to look around. Hide

Fabulous location with only a short walk into town centre. Lots of nice shops, cafes and pubs all close to each other. Bus stop close by and train station a 10 minute walk away. The Lodge is extremely well equipped and everything is great quality and in good condition. Very comfortable sofa and armchairs, and check the cabinet near the 2nd bedroRead moreom door, full of useful info and leaflets, plus books and games. The garden is a delight and although we spent a lot of time exploring the area, we also had many pleasant hours sitting near the river, relaxing and watching the many visiting birds - had to tie up the feeders to stop the ravens upending them. Very little activity on the river due to the time of year, just a couple of cruisers, kayaks and paddle boarders, so very quiet. We live in South Wales and have never been to this area of the country before. Strange to see everywhere so flat when we are used to hills and mountains We really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be returning, preferably to this property again. Highly recommended. Hide

The bungalow was perfect for us. It is well equipped especially the kitchen. I couldnt find any mention of Shower mat or hairdryer in the information, so for anyone else who needs to know the bungalow had both of these items. Sitting by the river watching the world go by was why we went and we were not disappointed. The highlight of our week was seRead moreeing an otters head pop out of the water a few yards from us. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise with some special elements we didnt expect, so well done to the host(s) for thinking about making our stay special with these added extras. Delightful property with the River Waveney at the bottom of the garden. Plenty of garden seats and tables to enjoy the view. Bird feeder with spare food and bird bath provided. Inside, there is a bright, spacious living/dining/kitchen area, two bedrooms both with ensuites, one with a bath. All very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Parking iRead mores a bit tricky if you have a large car as the street is narrow to swing into the sloping drive, reversing in is advisable. There are two allocated parking spaces in front of the house. Within walking distance of Tesco and the town centre, and river walks right on the doorstep. Hide
