This charming cottage in Suffolk offers mesmerising views of the countryside, that you can explore at your leisure with abundant footpaths from the front door. With two bedrooms sleeping up to four guests, it makes a great family getaway, with plenty of room inside and out for everyone to spread out and relax. And if you fancy a bucket and spade day out, the coast is only 11 miles away, too.

Step through the front door and take a seat on one of the comfortable sofas in the lounge/dining room; admire the views or switch on the TV for a family film. The kitchen houses shaker-style units and a breakfast table for a change of scene. When it's time to rest your head, retreat to one of the two peaceful bedrooms, a king-size and a twin. There is also a family bathroom to complete the interior. When the sun is shining, head out into the garden and dine alfresco at the table with a beautiful backdrop of rolling fields.

Just a short 1-mile jaunt away, Orford offers a variety of activities such as climbing a medieval castle for a panoramic view, or taking a scenic riverboat cruise along the River Ore. If you are looking for a day on the beach, Aldeburgh (11 miles) is the perfect spot for all ages. Here, you can stroll along the pebbled beach and watch the waves roll in or pick up some fresh fish caught that day from one of the local fishermen.

A lovely comfortable cottage with welcome food which was much appreciated. The local bread was very tasty. The view was lovely and we never tired of looking out across the fields to the river and sea and were lucky enough to see several hares with one young one sitting on the grass in front of the cottage for some time. The owners were very friendlRead morey and helpful and I enjoyed chatting to Alison the owner. A very convenient location for seeing an interesting and attractive part of the county. We found Orford a charming little village with a very good tearoom on the quayside. Hide

The cottage is really charming and very tastefully decorated. The cottage is warm and welcoming and everything is provided for a pleasant stay, with plenty of plates and cutlery etc. and a generous starter pack of bread, milk etc which was much appreciated. We loved the location overlooking the fields with uninterupted views across to the sea. IRead moret is located a short drive to Orford - and there is plenty to do in the area - coastal or forest walks, bird watching, cultural and art activities at Snape Maltings, cycling and much more.
