This charming period property just 150 metres from the beach in pretty Southwold is a charming base for discovering this popular part of Suffolk. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the area has much to offer the nature-loving visitor, with its expansive farmlands, marshlands, sand dunes and wildlife all ready to be discovered. This seaside retreat has an attractive green facade and is perched on a tiny triangular green with a large tree in the middle. With room for four over its two bedrooms, it’s perfectly suited a small family, with one pet also welcome to come and join in the fun.

You’ll enter the property directly into a cosy lounge featuring three sofas, a wall-mounted Smart TV, a stylish brick fireplace and a quaint sash window – a lovely spot for kicking back in the evening. French doors from here lead to an intimate conservatory where you can enjoy breakfasts and evening meals prepared in the sweet farmhouse-style kitchen. After a fun-packed day out exploring, scale the white staircase leading up from the living room. Upstairs there are two welcoming bedrooms, one of which boasts lovely views over the lighthouse and the sweet bathroom. You’ll have access a shared courtyard outside, which encompasses a small fenced-off area for your sole use, complete with garden furniture for relaxation.

Southwold offers plenty to the curious visitor, with its colourful beach huts, amusement pier, lively arcades and independent shops (all within 0.5 miles). Wonderful walking opportunities abound along the River Blyth estuary (1 mile). The nearby villages of Walberswick, Reydon and Dunwich are all well worth the trip (1.5 miles, 1.5 miles and 8 miles respectively) for when you fancy a change of scenery.

6 East Green is a perfect base for a stay in Southwold. A nicely finished cottage with well equipped kitchen and plenty of natural light. Small outside courtyard with a table/chairs and space to keep bicycles (which we did). Despite on street parking we had no problems parking nearby,

No 6 is a lovely cottage with everything you need. Very clean and today and spacious. Would come again.

The property we stayed in was just perfect for us all. My son, his lovely lady and my beautiful granddaughter joined my husband and I for a wonderful week full of fun and enjoyment, we particularly liked the outdoor space, and having the travel cot and high chair, thank you all very much.

Generally satisfied with our property however the mould in the bathroom is not really acceptable given the money we paid. We also found the kitchen utensils, cutterly, plates etc. had not been cleaned and were put away dirty. While we may use Original Cottages again as we have had good experiences in the past we will not be staying in this propertyRead more again. Hide

Although we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the bathroom needed updating. Though the shower itself was very good!
