A lovely property, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. It is set in a beautiful garden and the owners, Pauline and Chris are happy for guests to make full use of it. Purpose of stay was to recharge batteries after a very stressful 12 months. The boxes to tick were: 1. fresh air, sunshine and exercise. 2. time to read - disengage from technology. 3. nature. 4. peace and quiet. All boxes were ticked. The garden was an oasis; bird song was sublime, sitting on the terrace and joined by a wren and a robin.Read more Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I did miss being able to have a bath, but mobility access for my husband was key to our booking. The snug was a perfect compromise. Hide

This couldn't have been a more perfect retreat for a relaxing getaway in late winter! The cottage was incredibly cosy, particularly the log burner which had been lit prior to our arrival. The owners were extremely friendly, and took pains to make sure everything was perfect for our stay. The location itself is wonderful too - plenty of bracing wintRead moreer walks along the coast and countryside, and some superb pubs nearby (can very highly recommend the Fox Inn at Newbourne). Though to be honest, we spent most our time in the snug playing board games, reading, and listening to music.
