A characterful Grade II cottage in a pretty village location roughly 3 miles from Covehithe Beach, one of many captivating shorelines found along the Suffolk Heritage Coast. Offering cosy living areas and an enclosed garden, this dog-friendly cottage is the perfect fit for large families or groups of friends seeking adventures across the Suffolk Coast & Heaths AONB.

Set off the main road running into the village, this three-storey cottage has an enviable home-from-home feel, blending contemporary furnishings with exposed beams, low doorways and oak flooring. There is plenty of room for everyone in the lounge for film nights, while the open-plan kitchen/diner has everything foodies and their disciples need to create and enjoy memorable feasts created using locally-sourced ingredients. The family bathroom is an inviting sanctuary and stands close to an en-suite double bedroom, a second double bedroom and a separate bunk bedroom. A set of stairs on the first floor leads to an attic bedroom containing three single beds. The cottage’s attractive south-west facing garden is perfect for entertaining, and you can keep an eye out for friendly farmyard animals in the paddock beyond.

Wrentham’s pubs welcome families and four-pawed customers, and dogs are free to roam the unspoilt beach at Covehithe (3 miles). The pretty town of Southwold (4.5 miles) is home to a sand and shingle beach and Victorian pier, and is a fantastic launch pad for walks to neighbouring coastal communities like Walberswick (5.5 miles). To get closer to Suffolk’s wildlife, head to Suffolk Coast National Nature Reserve (8 miles).

I would serious question renting this property! I wish i had taken more note of the previous reviews where the smell of sewage/drains was mentioned. This ruined our holiday and we actually decided along with our friends to leave the house early and return home. The TV had a major issue and although reporting it nothing was done and we thereforeRead more were unable to use for the duration. The house was very dirty on arrival with nothing done to rectify even though i reported it. The dishwasher doesnt work properly so be prepared to wash up. The washing machine pipes outside are broken so this drains directly outside the back door all over the path. The photo's are very cleverly taken and shows the property in a light that is not true to the reality of the current propoerty state. Putting the property to one side, Suffolk is lovely and would recommend the area just please rent a different property. Hide

We had a lovely week at the Dressmakers Cottage. The cottage is surprisingly roomy, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Lots of crockery, cutlery, utensils, mugs and glasses. Five nights away for four adults, five children and one baby over bleak half term break. Beautiful cosy house with a lovely feel, visited a few nearby places all local enough we could come home easily for lunch or dinner. Main stair treads are, characterfully, quite deep/ steep little ones need to take with caution. We had a great time altogether aRead morend would recommend for family getaways. Hide

Great cottage for a group of us, comfy and cosy with space for children to play and adults to relax. There was an eggy smell to the drains at times. We had some cleaning issues on arrival but these were resolved on the day.

This is a lovely cottage. Wonderful sunsets, comfy beds, great shower, dog safe garden and a lovely lovely holiday. Overall the cottage was very charming and well equipped. The Chinese just up the road was lovely and the short drive to Lowestoft was perfect. You are only a couple of minutes drive from a Morrisons and an Aldi too which is helpful. Although the cottage itself was quirky and decorated nicely, on arrival we did not feel that the cottage was particRead moreularly clean. This was disappointing as we were not able to access the property till 4pm so that it could be made ready. A welcome bag had been left with a few snacks which was a nice touch, however we could not find any information or a welcome pack. Eventually we found one under the coffee table which gave very outdated information. For instance it made reference to a cabin with games and TV which is obviously not there anymore. One of the biggest issues we had was the drainage smell coming from the bathroom when the taps were running, it was almost unbearable. We do appreciate that the cottage is old but it really did put a bit of a damper on our experience as every time you wanted a shower you were hit with the awful smell. Apart from this the cottage was big and we did have a nice week however for the money we paid we were disappointed. Hopefully these issues can be rectified in time for the new guests as the cottage itself could be a really nice space. Hide

Cottage is in a good general location but literally on the A12 so VERY noisy. There is no longer a cabin as stated. No bbq facilities. Generally well equipped. No washing line or pegs. Securable garden if have little ones. Beds could be more comfy. But overall a good place.

The cottage is tastefully decorated and is very homely. The rear of the garden is secure for children to play and the paddocks behind the garden offer a very pleasant view of countryside together with the two goats.

With a bit of attention to cleanliness and maintenance to the gardens our arrival would have been smoother. The property has great potential, despite it being on a main road (A12).
