Have a delightful stay with family or friends in this pretty cottage right at the heart of vibrant Southwold on the Suffolk Heritage Coast. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom, red-brick retreat is nestled in an excellent position for the town’s many shops and eateries and is also just 100 metres from the promenade and beach. With a charming courtyard for outside dining, the inviting, dog-friendly cottage also enjoys the rare benefit of private parking.
Cross the courtyard to enter the charming cottage. Once inside, head through the narrow door from the lounge into the appealing kitchen to unpack the fresh Suffolk provisions you have bought, perhaps including the freshly landed seafood and fish the town is famous for. Make a cup of tea to enjoy back through in the lounge, as you chat about your day, watch TV or settle down to a DVD. Find everything you need to help you cater for your party in the kitchen then call everyone to the table in the dining room. Also at ground-floor level, is a family bathroom. The two airy bedrooms, a double and a twin, are on the first floor of the property. Bask out in the sunny courtyard on warm days and sit out here on summer evenings. There is parking for two cars at the cottage.
Step straight out to explore Southwold’s renowned shopping streets and to stock up on provisions. You will also find a broad array of eateries. Walk less than 1 mile down through the dunes to the harbour, where you can go crabbing and take the rowing boat ferry over to Walberswick. Head 0.5 miles in the other direction to find the fascinating pier, with its collection of outlets. The long beach at Southwold provides plenty of opportunity for swimming, sunbathing and making sandcastles.
