The bed was extremely uncomfortable. We could feel the springs through the very hard mattress and whenever we moved the springs "popped" and "boinged" noisily. We had 2 very poor nights sleep and in the mornings had progressively worsening back and neck pain. This left us exhausted during the day. The futon sofa is well passed its best, very faded,Read more hard, and flat and provided no comfort, which was actually quite distressing to sit on after poor sleep that left us wiith aches and pains. The shower produced such a minimal amount of water that it took a long time to have a barely adequate wash. The TV signal was poor, with a jumble of unsightly wires hanging down to a dvd player that sat on 2 crooked and inappropriate brackets. We realised the aerial cable was loose in the connector so this affected the signal continuously. My husband repaired it and made good to get it to work. The manual provided in the accommodation for the TV, free view, and DVD player referred to brands that didn't match the equipment. The manual also included some random take away leaflets but all out of date. We were booked for 5 nights but couldn't face staying there any longer after 2 nights. The property is very tired and neglected. There was an old grubby headboard poking out from behind the wardrobe. Why not just throw it out? Large quantity of what looks like disposable catering supplies piled up in the area above the kitchenette and gathering dust. Very rickety handrail on the wooden stairs leading up to the accommodation. We called holiday cottages in the morning after our second night and said we had checked out and explained why. We were told this property was run by an agent and they would pass on our comments and they will investigate. It's been a week since then and we haven't heard anything. The only good thing about this place is the location. Just a few minutes stroll to the high street and seafront. Hide

Positives: balcony with a view of the estuary; perfect size for 2 people - compact but all needs catered for; good value for money; great location- close to High St and walks. Drawbacks: very poor and intermittent wifi connection; poor sound-proofing between the top and lower apartment; mattress uncomfortable and noisy.

We spent 4 nights at High Tide. Positives include the location of the apartment and parking. The apartment was very clean and reasonably comfortable. However, we had several issues which spoiled a truly relaxing stay. There was an unpleasant musty damp smell on entering the flat. Possibly due to lack of ventilation The bathroom sink is too Read moresmall to wash properly and the water came out as a tepid trickle at best. Shower was good though. The french doors in the bedroom meant we could not have a window open at night so the room got extremely hot and airless at night. We also had a problem with the Internet in that the WiFi was connected but the internet went down after the first 24 hours.Despitetheseproblemsandtherather wet and windy weather,we enjoyed our visit to Aldeburgh,Minsmere RSPB and walks along the coast. We enjoyed a meal at The Lighthouse Restaurant and recommend a nice pint at the "local" White Hart. Recommend The Lighthouse Restaurant and the' Local' White Hart. Response from holidaycottages.co.uk: Thank you for your review. Well investigate this right away to make sure everythings in place for the next guest Hide

Good position for the flat with views towards Slaughden and parking available although tight. Flat is close to the main High Street with access to a number of pubs, restaurants and hotels.

Despite the Internet problems, this is a great place to stay. It is perfectly placed for accessing the interesting, unique shops in Aldeburgh. The weather was fantastic, bit hot, but by opening the doors fully on our return every day, it soon became bearable. It's a short walk to the marshes where my husband saw a barn owl most mornings. The kiRead moretchen is well equipped. Shower perfect. Having your own parking space, priceless. Hide

On arrival, after a drive of several hours, I'm afraid that my wife sat down and burst into tears. We left after only three nights. Response from holidaycottages.co.uk: Thank you for your review. The small apartment had a light, airy feel to it, having a balcony to sit outside extended the feeling of space. Tired, shabby and musty. Accessed by unsafe rickety staircase. Very cluttered with accumulated crockery, utensils and kitchen equipment, badly needs declutterring. Bathroom needs refurbing, with proper shower cubicle. Bed needs new mattress. Kitchen units reasonable. Allocated parking space a bonus.

More comfortable sofa and chair in living room. Balcony needs attention. No window in bedroom and no fan provided, extremely hot room at night. Glasses and plates in cupboard had a film of dust on them. Stay affected by building work next door. Worker was there on a Sunday despite assurance that the work would be Monday to Friday and although the wRead moreork was mainly indoors because there were no windows noise could be clearly heard.
