A tastefully renovated hideaway nestled in an idyllic countryside setting in the sleepy village of Rumburgh. Brimming with traditional cottage charm, this inviting retreat is perfect for small families or couples adventuring along the Suffolk coast with their furry companion. Scoff samples and peruse shelves of produce at the farmers market in Halesworth (4 miles), before congregating for a celebratory al fresco supper on the raised patio.

This secluded property features a beautifully rustic interior with wide wooden beams, bright neutral tones, and soft blue furnishings. After a day of adventuring, step into the open lounge/kitchen/diner and prop open the patio door to embrace the balmy summer breeze. Raid the neat kitchen cabinets for a pre-dinner snack and slide out a chilled bottle of wine from the fridge. While away the evening gathered around the pretty dining table before retiring to the lounge. Lounge on the leather sofas and rummage through the chocolates while your warm chilly toes in the glow of the wood burner effect electric fire. Rest up in the two light-flooded bedrooms, consisting of a double with a skylight and floor level window and a quirky twin nestled in the eaves of the property. Stroll through the lush grounds with your faithful friend, perch on the patio with your morning brew, or fire up the roaring wood burner in the open cart lodge adorned with twinkling fairy lights. Children can enjoy playing and bouncing on the trampoline or why not have a little row on the pond in the rowing boat.

Sip local grape blends and indulge in wood-fired pizzas at Valley Farm vineyards (1.5 miles) or load up on fresh bakes and frothy coffee at a tearoom in Halesworth (4 miles). Lovely cottage, gorgeous surroundings. Good for exploring surrounding area. Friendly, helpful owner.who went out out her way to assist us. Outside steps with no handrail could be a problem for visitors with mobility issues.

We had a fantastic stay here at this cottage, family of four, children aged 13 and 11. Spotlessly clean, everything you could ever need for a relaxing holiday. We loved the outdoor area and the log burner. The ends were super comfortable and we loved waking up hearing the birds. The owner Evelyn was so friendly but protected our privacy. A beautiful converted barn in a quiet spot. Had everything we needed. Very comfortable beds and a lovely shower. The low beam didn't bother us it added to the character. Views outside across the orchard and farm showcased the most spectacular sunrise and sunsets. We didn't use the outside snug as temps were in minus. A bench just outside will be loRead morevely in warmer weather to enjoy a coffee and watch out for wildlife. Easily parking for two cars. Rumburgh Buck pub just five minutes walk. The little town of Halesworth just three miles away is a lovely spot for a coffee and cake and has a Spar for groceries top up. Halesworth has a beautiful country walk along the Bltyhe River called Mileenuim Green with all weather terrain. Easy parking. We would definitely stay again. Hide

We loved our stay at Dragonfly Cottage and throughly enjoyed our first time visiting the Suffolk coast. The location of the accommodation is set in a beautiful village. A nice spot for a couple or a small family for a night or two. The property isnt very spacious downstairs but plenty of room in the bedrooms upstairs. The outdoor fire area is a nice touch and kept us pretty sheltered despite the winds on New Years Eve!

We left a day early, nothing to do with the cottage, the weather has been so awful we decided to head home. I'm sure it's be wonderful in the summer.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this smallish country cottage. It has some unusual benefits, such as the outside covered sitting area, outlook over the pond and traditional decor; together with some 'quirky' features including the low beam across the landing. The position is convenient for access to Norwich and the Broads as well as the Suffolk coRead moreast, including Sutton Hoo and Minsmere, all about an hour away. The owners are next door and are very friendly and helpful. The only thing we missed was not visiting the local pub, which gets excellent reviews! Hide

A super location for a get away holiday. Wonderful wildlife within the grounds and a lovely cottage with well thought out touches by the owner, e.g. games for children, books, magazines and local naps for the adults. Very comfy beds and a very quiet location. Highly recommended.

We loved Dragonfly Cottage and its beautiful, quiet location. Magic! The owners are very helpful too. There is a low beam on the landing which you have to duck under and mind your head! Getting onto the lane from the driveway requires a team effort as the traffic shifts along it, but its fine if one person gets out to see the all clear.
