Property code: OC-PET

An inviting coastal property with a secluded garden set in the bustling heart of Southwold. This retreat is ideal for a family seaside escape or friends’ reunion with a furry companion in tow. While away sun-soaked afternoons scoffing salty chips and ambling along Southwold Pier (400 metres) before sinking onto the plump outdoor seating and toasting with a glass of chilled fizz.

This tastefully appointed home features a contemporary interior with tranquil seascapes, ocean blue tones, and polished wooden details. Slip off sandy shoes at the door then pad into the elegant lounge. Recline on the leather sofas and sip a pre-dinner tipple or peruse the eclectic book collection. In chillier months, stretch out toes by the roaring wood burner as you cosy in with a film. Prop open the patio doors then potter in the charming shaker kitchen to rustle up a simple summer spread. Top off glasses and congregate around the dining table for a celebratory evening feast. As the night draws in, slip into the sheets of two airy doubles and a bright single with a handy pull-out bed. Outdoors, enjoy your morning brew on the wooden veranda, or grab some blankets and blether beneath the twinkling night sky.

Stroll barefoot alongside the charming pastel beach huts lining the shore of Southwold Beach (400 metres) or dive in for a refreshing wild swim. Scope out the selection of local galleries, coffee shops, and seafood eateries lining the high street (300 metres), or feel the wind in your hair as you glide across the River Blyth to the idyllic coastal village of Walberswick (2 miles).

Fantastic location, very cosy property but feel the outside area needs a bit of love. One toilet could be an issue if house was full to capacity.

A lovely house and garden which has been let down by the house keeping. Weeks of build up of dirt and grime in the shower, uncleaned dust around the walls and blinds. It appeared it had not been cleaned after the last guests the week before. If you choose a four star property to guarantee a comfortable nights sleep don't choose this property as I Read moretried all three bedrooms and didn't have one good night. The mattresses are definitely not four star standard. The standards of the Suffolk Secrets agency as it was have without doubt dropped since being taken over. I have stayed in many cottages with them in the past and up to three years ago have never had reason to complain. Hide

Comfortable and well-located cottage, with good amenities. Garden area was perfect, particularly with the covered seating area, we enjoyed many meals out there.

We loved our stay at Peter Duck, we could not fault it. It was clean, well equipped and close to all amenities. Our stay was very enjoyable. We had to leave early as one of us was ill and had to go into hospital. The information in your booklet was very helpful, for us to find a doctor and the doctor's surgery was very helpful and a neighbour was kRead moreind enough to drive us to the doctor's surgery. We thoroughly recommend Peter Duck. Hide
