It’s not far from some of East Anglia’s most sought-after locations and has direct links to London so you’ll be spoilt for choice of where to go. Walkers, cyclists and birdwatchers are all well-catered for in this area being within the countryside. If you want to explore the area’s history, you can head to nearby Stowmarket’s Museum of East Anglia or to Bury St. Edmunds and wander the Cathedral Abbey grounds. From here you will be within easy reach of Ipswich, Norwich, Colchester, Long Melford, Lavenham and Kersey. Travel down to the coast and soak up the sea air in Aldeburgh, Dunwich, Walberswick and Southwold.

This property dates back to the 16th century and is a detached, Grade II listed barn, brimming with charm and character which you can see from the outside. Wander in and you will find the heart of the property is the first lounge, with impressive vaulted ceiling, wooden floors and French doors. Here there is also a wood burner in the large inglenook fireplace providing a warm welcome all year round, and plenty of space to relax on the comfortable sofas. Enjoy some competitive fun in the nearby games room with pool table, ideal for brushing up on those skills. The charming dining room with wooden floor and French doors provides an elegant space for a celebration dinner. Leading on to the country style kitchen with cream units and wooden worksurface, this is a great space for cooking up a hearty breakfast, well-equipped with electric range oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, fridge/freezer and dishwasher, and there is plenty of seating for everyone to come together around the table and discuss the activities that lie ahead. Just off the kitchen is a handy utility room with washing machine and additional fridge/freezer along with a wine cooler. if needed. There are four bedrooms located on the ground floor, two doubles, one twin and one large room with three single beds and a triple bunk bed, with single over double, with en-suite shower room and WC. There is also a bathroom with roll top bath, separate shower and WC and a further shower room with shower and WC. Head up the spiral staircase to first floor where you will find a double bedroom with en-suite shower room and WC, leading to another bedroom with a king-size and a single bed. There is a second staircase which also leads to the first floor, here you will find a galleried area with double bed and lastly there is a bedroom with a four-poster double bed with en-suite shower room and WC.

Outside offers bags of space, two acres to be exact, there is a decked area with a hot tub, located beneath a canopy for all-weather use and table tennis for some more competitive fun. There is also a lawn area and several outside seating areas with a BBQ and garden furniture. There are unfenced ponds to be aware of, children should not be left unaccompanied. Ample off-road parking is available.

So much space to enjoy, we were able to spend quality time together as an extended family of 17 people, aged from 7 months to 78 years!

Really well presented and spacious property. Nice historic feel with mod cons. Plenty of facilities. Lovely outdoor areas. Nice owners with a warm welcome. The whole family thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Would recommend to anyone seeking accommodation for large groups!

We had a great stay at Doves barn, communication was excellent prior and during the stay. We were 11 adults and 10 kids. The house is huge, the kitchen is well equipped, nice sheets in the bedrooms. Our large group (12 adults, 3 infants) enjoyed the downstairs space in Dove Barn particularly. It was well equipped with glassware and crockery too so we weren't continually having to wash up. Plenty of interesting days out possible from this location.

We arrived on the 30th Sept for a long weekend with family, ages ranging between 3 to 78 and had an amazing time. There is so much space inside and outside.
