Our Favourite 5 Places for Afternoon Tea in Suffolk

A traditional British Afternoon Tea is becoming increasingly popular, be it an intimate setting for two, a group celebration such as a baby shower – you can even find Afternoon Tea as a wedding breakfast option. This lovely little slice of luxury can be found as an option in many cafes, restaurants and hotels. Here in Suffolk we are certainly not short of some amazing places to enjoy Afternoon Tea. See our recommendations below for your Afternoon Tea treat.

1) Helmingham Hall, Stowmarket

Treat yourself to a Vintage Afternoon Tea in this fantastic setting overlooking Helmingham Hall Gardens. Using traditional china crockery and serving some British classics, this is a great place to enjoy an intimate setting on a warm summer’s day with a glass of Pimms.
Price: £15.00 per person or you can opt for the £20.00 Vintage Afternoon Tea with entry to the gardens.

2) The Swan, Lavenham

The perfect setting in the medieval town of Lavenham. After a busy day sightseeing in and around this popular village, head over to The Swan at Lavenham for a royal Afternoon Tea experience. Choose from three types of Afternoon Tea – traditional, savoury or high tea, and relax with a glass of champagne.

3) Ufford Park, Ufford nr Woodbridge

Served daily in this countryside location and fabulous hotel setting, relax and unwind with this classic Afternoon Tea choice. Choose from a range of fruit or traditional teas coupled with finger sandwiches, mini cakes, sausage rolls and mini trifles. Top your experience off with a glass of Prosecco.

4) Satis House, Yoxford

Satis House is a Grade II listed historic house located within acres of parkland in Yoxford. A firm favourite for Afternoon Tea, here you can choose from a Full Suffolk Cream Tea with all the works or simply tea, scones and cake, all served daily from 12.00pm. You can also upgrade your Afternoon Tea by adding a glass of Champagne or Pimms.
Price: From £6.50 per person for tea, scones and cake, £19.00 per person for Full Suffolk Cream Tea.

5) Ivy House Country Hotel, Oulton Broad

Relax in the newly created and stylish Eve’s Bar within Ivy House Country Hotel and enjoy stunning views over the grounds whilst indulging in a spot of Afternoon Tea. Classic Afternoon Tea choices include finger sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, mini cakes and desserts and freshly brewed coffee.
