This idyllic 17th-century cottage in Snape is the ideal spot for a family holiday, enveloped in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which is brimming with outdoor activities. Four comfortable bedrooms sleep up to six guests, and there are lots of cosy spaces to socialise or enjoy some relaxation. Pick a paperback from one of the shelves and find a spot by one of the crackling wood burners when you fancy some peace and quiet.
The home is arranged over two floors, with a welcoming lounge, complete with a sofa, armchair, and a wood burner housed in a brick surround, making evenings especially comforting. Off the lounge, you’ll find the dining room, with a second wood burner and a table that can seat up to four. The adjoining kitchen comes well-equipped, with a table and chairs for four, and a local map on the wall to help with sightseeing plans. The ground floor also houses a family bathroom with a shower over the bath, as well as a separate cloakroom with WC. Upstairs, two steep cottage-style staircases lead to four bedrooms. The main double bedroom and a pretty twin are accessed via the lounge staircase, while two small doubles - more suited to single people - are found through the dining room staircase. The bedrooms are all interconnected so you can move between them all. Outside, the garden features plenty of outdoor seating options.
The house is just over a mile from the bustling Snape Maltings where you’ll find Victorian architecture, independent shops and galleries, tasty eateries, and even a retail complex. For entertainment, Snape Maltings Concert Hall hosts a variety of events throughout the year. The picturesque Aldeburgh coastline is located 5 miles away, home of the world-famous 'Scallop' beach sculpture, and the North Warren RSPB Reserve. In addition, the Aldeburgh Festival arrives every June to provide excellent live music.
