Woodbridge is a historic town of great character situated on the River Deben. Its charm lies in the many narrow picturesque streets of fine houses and cottages, the river, the famous Tide Mill, the ancient buildings around the Market Hill and the fine Church. Woodbridge has an interesting shopping centre, with many specialist shops, good restaurants, and pubs, together with art galleries, antique shops, the town museum and an excellent cinema/theatre, large recreation areas and an indoor heated swimming pool. With the benefit of a train station, guests can arrive from London Liverpool Street in under 2 hours. Woodbridge is perfectly located to enjoy both the Suffolk Coast and Countryside, with coastal towns such as Aldeburgh and Thorpeness an easy drive away and popular countryside locations such as Rendlesham Forest nearby too. Woodbridge also benefits from being just a short drive from some fascinating historical locations such as the National Trust sites of Sutton Hoo and Orford Ness.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Number 22. The cottage is surprisingly spacious - having two bathrooms is a real bonus - and has been beautifully renovated and stylishly furnished. It is also incredibly well-equipped with everything you could possibly need. The garden is lovely for relaxing and enjoying al fresco dining. The property is in a fantastic location with shops, many good pubs and restaurants, the quayside etc. within a few minutes walk. Don't take any risks with on-street parking, as traffic wardens were very active during our stay. Use a reasonably priced car park nearby and pay using the Ringo app.
