Wow, what a week we've had - can't beat being in England in a heatwave and even better being by the seaside! Great cottage, very clean, lovely welcome pack and a great location for exploring with loads to do. Would definitely recommend to family & friends and have no hesitation returning. Many thanks, Clare & Jon-Paul

This was our first visit to Suffolk and we will definitely be back. We loved exploring the gorgeous unspoilt towns and villagers and beautiful beaches. Thank you for the lovely welcoming touches within the cottage. My husband used the summer house as gym every day whilst i was out walking the footpaths with our dog Fergus. Southwold, Aldeburgh, Dunwich, Snape Maltings, Thorpeness and Woodbridge, all worth a visit and The Sorrel Horse Pub next door was lovely. Thank you so much

Lovely cottage - has everything. Suffolk is really beautiful Thorpeness is one of our favourite places. The Sorrel Horse very good, also The Wilford Arms. Thanks for the flowers and the food. PS. The suffolk Horse Trust is really worth well worth a visit...

Previous Customer,

A small but perfectly formed cottage in a lovely quiet village for miles from Woodridge. Very good local pub and another only two miles away. Small private garden and garden room.

Ms M,

Delightful cottage with small private garden situated in pretty village. Arrived to a very welcoming food parcel and vases full of gorgeous flowers.

Mr S,

Serena cottage was beautiful and although compact had everything we needed for a short break in lovely Suffolk. The local pub the Sorrel Horse does great food and was very welcoming and there are countless footpaths and bridle ways from the village for dog walks. My husband used the summer house each day as a gym and the courtyard garden was a real sun trap. SHOTTISHAM proved a great base from which to explore the countryside and beaches - we loved Aldeburgh Southwold and Dunwich and Woodbridge was lovely for shopping and a great Riverside walk. The owners had also provided some lovely extras like fresh flowers in every room and delicious home made jam so thank you for a lovely stay - we will definitely recommend and will be back.

Mrs T,

Our 4th visit to this lovely cottage, we have had mixed weather however managed some nice walks. We love Woodbridge for shopping, everyone is so friendly. Thank you so much for all the goodies and the plant. I would have loved to buy more blackberry and apple jam, it was so nice (maybe next time). We will be back.

We will definitely be back!

Mrs Emer S,

Lovely cottage, enjoyed our little stay, welcome pack and flowers on the table. A nice touch and we will stay again. Sorrell Horse is very nice, great walks and shingle beach which is great for our Fox Terrier Trevor. He also liked the doggie treats. Dad loved the garden room.

Mrs Karen D,

Mrs M,

Thank you for having us at Serena Cottage! The cottage was in a great location and was very clean. Had some lovely walks and trips to the beach.

Miss Rosie K,

Though cut short by the new lockdown we have enjoyed our stay - warm and comfortable. Thanks for the provisions on arrival. A wonderful chance to savour the coast in all its moods and the autumn peace which has descended on Shottisham. A return in April is planned.

Previous Customer,

Thank you Serena Cottage, we have had a lovely stay. The cottage has been perfect for our family and puppy. Thank you for the extras, a really nice touch. We really enjoyed exploring the beaches at Shingle Street and Aldeburgh. Thorpeness was a delight and a great walk at Sutton Heath. We enjoyed meals at the Sorrel Horse, Ramsholt Arms and the Unruly Pig - all pubs super dog friendly too. Shottisham is a great base to explore the area and would love to come back.

Mrs Sharon S,

A really lovely week - great cottage and area. Fab walks - Shingle Street, Woodbridge and Thorpeness to Aldeburgh circuit Best food by far at the Unruly Pig but also enjoyed the Sorrel Horse -who wouldn't enjoy being 40 paces from a pub. Overall, loved being in this area.

Mrs Linda H,

Lovely week in a great cottage. Thanks for the welcome treats. Great walks and lovely to explore Suffolk.

Ms Philippa P,

A comfortable and very well appointed cottage which enhanced our brief stay here in Suffolk. We even slept well! Sutton Hoo was definitely the highlight of our stay, the weather was rather damp and bleak but it just added to the atmosphere. We finished our trip with an excellent meal at the Sorrel Horse - highly recommended.

Mrs Jo H,

Delightful spot for a short break. Took the advice to take the ferry across to Old Felixstowe - worth doing. Minsmere is also an excellent day out.

Mrs Joanne S,

Another lovely time at Serena - our 6th! Great weather, walks and food at the Sorrel Horse - what more could we ask for! Back again in 2021.

Previous Customer,

Thank you for a wonderful week. We used many of the recommendations listed by previous guests and explored nearby beaches and towns. All meals at the Sorrel Horse, the Wilfred Bridge and the Ramsholt Arms did not disappoint. We also took advantage of the cottage and ate in.

Rowenna & S,

A delightful cottage, cosy and comfortable. The location is peaceful with some lovely walks and cycle rides from the front door. There was easy access to local points of interest and attractions. Bawdsey Quay is a must see! Plus a quick ferry ride across the river to Old Felixstowe. A very enjoyable stay.

Caroline & T,

A wonderful cottage in a wonderful location - so peaceful and a variety of fabulous walks straight from the door, highly recommend the circular walk to Ramsholt. We have been extremely fortunate with the weather and have had some delicious meals sitting outside The Sorrel Horse, The Ramsholt Arms and the magnificent 'Table' in Woodbridge. The local wildlife has put on quite a display with sightings of deer, hares, seals and a range of birds including spoon bills and a black swan at Ramsholt. The cottage has been the perfect place to explore the Deben Peninsular - already one of our favorite areas. For us highlights have been visits to Snape (particularly the boat trip to Iken from Snape Maltings) Orford, Shingle Street, Woodbridge (of course!), Bawdsey Quay (including a ferry trip to Felixstowe Ferry for a drink at The Ferry Boat pub) and a walk on the beach from Aldeburgh to Thorpeness. Many thanks for the Welcome Pack, it was very much appreciated - The jam was delicious and the various flower displays just beautiful! We would hope to be able to make a return trip to Shottisham in the future! - The Hallion family

Mrs Jane H,

Lovely week, cottage was perfect, good weather. We brought our bikes and enjoyed some excellent days out exploring the area. Breakfast at Blue Rabbit cafe excellent. Sorrel Horse lovely and Ramsholt Arms perfect in the evening!

Mrs Joanna E,

Our second stay at Serena Cottage and we didn't expect a heatwave! But the daily swim at Shingle Street made it tolerable. Emie the spaniel really enjoyed sea swimming. We walked to Ramsholt and up the river passed the Ramsholt Cliffs. Excellent lunch at The Sorrel Horse, pizzas one evening too! The Blue Rabbit cafe/smallholding is a real gem. - The Batchelar family

Mr Peter B,

We've had a wonderful week here in Suffolk. Serena Cottage has been perfect for us - and we really appreciated the lovely flowers and provisions on arrival. Our four year old has loved skipping down the country lane, and returning to the cottage after wonderful days out. Highlights have included, a couple of swims at Shingle Street, a sunset supper at The Ramsholt Arms, a trip to Framlingham Castle and a walk to Felixstowe Ferry. Thank you for helping us have such a relaxing break! - The Bacon Family
