Felixstowe Holiday Cottages

Felixstowe is often thought about in regards to its famous port, but this Suffolk town is also a fabulous seaside resort, perfect for a coastal break. We have a range of holiday cottages in Felixstowe, some right by the sea with a fabulous view, and some further inland, nestled into the bright Suffolk countryside.

In Old Felixstowe, you’ll find an array of our cottages, some of them luxury homes, with panoramic sea views and space for a large group and even dogs! Our dog-friendly cottages are spread across the area, with many located in the centre of Felixstowe, near the esplanade, and further inland close to locations like Kirton and Waldringfield.

Things to do in Felixstowe

Felixstowe is many things, but first and foremost it is a seaside resort town. The promenade still retains much of its grand Edwardian architecture and here you’ll find the picture-perfect attributes of the British seaside: colourful beach huts, fish and chip shops, a beautiful seafront garden and, most importantly, the beach.

The beach at Felixstowe is divided into two sections. The North Beach is a shingle beach, while the South Beach is much sandier. The South Beach is also a Blue Flag beach, meaning it is one of the cleanest in the country and is a big hit with families who want to enjoy a traditional day by the sea, playing games and jumping waves. The North Beach is much quieter, but really quite beautiful and is a favoured spot of wild swimmers, making it perfect for an awakening morning dip.

The pier is also full of fun and games to keep everyone entertained for a while. There is a large pier building at the start of the pier which is home to every form of entertainment you can imagine, from arcades and slot machines, to bowling lanes and eateries. For food, choose from the fish and chip bar, Lorenzo’s Ice Cream Parlour, or the Beach Bar Cafe.

There are a number of great food and drink spots across Felixstowe, catering to a range of tastes. Some of our truly local favourites include the entirely plant-based Greenhouse Cafe and the Steak and Lobster Co for those who prefer their food not so plant-based!

There’s also a number of great walks to embark on in and around Felixstowe, but one of our favourites has to be the circular route from Felixstowe to Landguard Peninsula. This 6.5 mile excursion makes for a whole day out, taking in the sites of Felixstowe and learning a bit more about the history of the town. Landguard Peninsula is home to Landguard Fort, which has served and protected Felixstowe for over 450 years. The Peninsula is also a dedicated Nature Reserve, with observatory for looking out for the various bird species that live here. If you love history, nature and stretching your legs, then this walk is for you.

Felixstowe really is a place with something to offer everyone, so take a look at our holiday cottages in the area today and enjoy your next holiday by the sea here.
