The Red House Tours
Tuesday – Saturday each week
The Red House provides insight into the life and living of Britten and Pears’. You are now given the opportunity to tour the home by an informative tour guide. During the tour you can explore both floors of Britten and Pears’ home and see original interiors and personal effects sitting alongside stunning artworks collected by the pair throughout their lives. Each tour lasts approximately 40 minutes. Tour tickets cost £2.50 which is in addition to the admission charge of £5.
Maverick Festival 2017
30th June - 2nd July 2017
The Maverick Festival is a celebration of Americana and roots music from both sides of the Atlantic right here in Suffolk. This child and dog-friendly festival is set amongst the picturesque Victorian farm buildings of Easton Farm Park where artists mix with the spectators and the campsite is filled with impromptu jam sessions.
The festival is an eclectic mix of music, comedy, dance, film & workshops across five stages indoors and out.
Felixstowe Book Festival 2017
1st & 2nd July 2017
The Felixstowe Book Festival returns for it's fifth year! Come along and celebrate some of the best loved books including themes of crime, love, politics and sports. Come along and discover a range of fantastic authors and you'll even get to meet some of your favourites too!

After the huge success of Soul By the Sea and Music by the sea in Aldeburgh, the organisers now present 'ThorpFest' This charity event features live acts and bands, food and drink stalls and is a great night out for all.

Vintage Afternoon Tea at Helmingham Hall
Every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Sunday between 3.00pm and 5.00pm from 1st May - 14th September 2017
Where: The Coach House Tearooms. Treat yourself to a traditional afternoon tea in the stunning surroundings of Helmingham Hall Gardens. This lovely Vintage Afternoon Tea afternoon consists of sandwiches, cakes, tea and coffee, all beautifully presented on vintage china. Why not add a glass of Pimms or Champagne (extra charge applies). Pre-booking is required. £15 per person or alternatively £20 per person including a visit to the gardens.
Latitude Festival 2017
13th - 16th July 2017
Henham Park Estate, Southwold. Fast becoming one of England’s favourite summer festivals, Latitude is returning to the beautiful Suffolk coastal area for its ninth time this year.
This fabulous, multi-arts festival and winner of the UK Festival Awards “Best Line-Up” title in 2013, will return to the beautiful Henham Park estate near Southwold in July 2016.

Suffolk Coast 100 Bike Ride

Returning for its fourth year, the 100 mile challenge route in the tranquil Suffolk countryside is back to raise money for charity. Kicking off and finishing at the elegant Glemham Hall, the route heads north through pretty countryside villages before reaching Covehithe. Following the coast south, the route crosses open heathland near Dunwich before going back to finish back at Glemham Hall where you will find massage, refreshments, live music and a bar. If any friends or family of the cyclists would like a tour of Glemham Hall at 10.00am on the day of the ride, please book in advance with Glemham Hall. Tour lasts for approximately 1 hour 15 minutes.
Suffolk Dog Day

From Westies to Bloodhounds, Poodles to Corgis, there's so much tail-waggingly good fun to be had at the annual Suffolk Dog Day. From grooming tips, to sheepdog trials, puppy training to demonstrations, this fabulous event is simply pooch-heaven!
The Suffolk Dog Day is set against the magnificent back drop of Suffolk’s beautiful Helmingham Hall Estate. Incorporating the historic moated 16th century Helmingham Hall, a 400 acre deer park, walled kitchen garden and various picturesque gardens designed by Lady Xa Tollemache, the Suffolk Dog Day offers a fantastic day out for the whole family.
Refreshments are available onsite at The Coach House Tearooms.
Summer Fun with Silly Eric Day Camp

Hosted in Southwold on the Common, the Silly Eric Day Camp returns for even more summer fun! Join local author Gracie Wright and her Silly Eric Team and bring along the kids for an action-packed day with activities such as dancing, football, music, arts and crafts and much more!

Festival of Classic & Sports Cars at Helmingham Hall
Sunday 6th August 2017
Time: 10.00am – 5.00pm. In association with the Suffolk Vehicle Enthusiasts Club (SVEC) – the Festival of Classic & Sports Cars returns to Helmingham Hall! Over 7,000 people attended the 2016 festival. This event attracts classic and sports car owners who exhibit their cars some of which parade up and down the main drive on the two concourse runs throughout the day. On display includes Alvis, Bristol, Jensen, AC Riley, Armstong Sideley, Lea Francis, Crossley, BSA, Lagonda, Lanchester and Gordon Keeble.
As well as this impressive display the festival is also a great day out for families with mini Land Rovers for children to drive, fairground stalls, craft and trade stalls, entertainment, birds of prey, local food and drink.

Where: Glemhall Hall, Suffolk... Nominated for the Best Small Festival Award in the UK Festival Awards, FolkEast is a friendly, eclectic , and family-friendly festival - all set within the beautiful Suffolk countryside.
It was also included in BBC Radio Suffolk's "Ultimate list of 50 things during summer 2014".

This popular carnival returns for 2017! The theme for this years carnival is Amazing Aldeburgh. Get involved in this colourful, fun carnival with music, performances, stalls and much more.
20th & 21st August 2017
Beccles Carnival weekend returns this August. This traditional carnival parade has on offer a great programme of events for the whole family to enjoy. Saturday sees teddy bears parade with judging of the best dressed teddy, entertainment with prize giveaways, fun and games. Fancy dress for children, Glam Gran and Bonny Baby competitions, displays and stalls, along with entertainment in the evening. Sunday sees the Grand traditional Carnival procession through the Beccles Market town leave at 1.00pm to the Beccles Quayside for the static display of vintage classic and steam exhibits, Stocks Fun fair, displays and competitions and entertainment for all the family. Admission via donation.
Maui Waui Festival 2017
25th, 26th & 27th August 2017
Where: Peakhill Farm, Theberton. Maui Waui Fesitval is an International Festival of Music & Arts! This three day festival is in its fifth year and is fast becoming one of the area’s most exciting festivals, enticing accomplished as well as undiscovered bands and performers from all around the globe.
Maui Waui focuses on an all-welcoming family feel with lots to do for the kids as well as adults; hosting world class bands, full circus shows in a dedicated circus tent, small upbeat bands and acoustic acts, plus cabaret and comedy.
The Bury St Edmunds Food and Drink Festival
27th & 28th August 2017
The Bury St Edmunds Food and Drink Festival hosted in the Arc Shopping Centre invites you to come along and taste some culinary delights. Includes a Farmers Market, street entertainment, and celebrity chef appearances!
