Reviews

John was a very welcoming host and extremely generous, leaving a lovely box of groceries and as much wood as we needed for the wood burner. It’s a very characterful and cosy cottage.

Mrs R,

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gabriels Place. The main order of the day was relaxing in front of the fire and we managed plenty of that. John is a most welcoming host and his suggestions in the guide book were great! We enjoyed Southwold, The Four Horseshoes and Wyken Vineyards. The walks available are beautiful and we went for the Orchid walk which was very pretty. John kindly suggested going to the village pumpkin event which meant we saw another area of the village at dusk which was lovely. The butchers is excellent and a drink at The Six Bells is an experience and so wonderfully dog friendly. Thank you!

Miss Rachael R,

Thank you John for a warm welcome to your lovely cottage. So comfortable and relaxing, a real home from home. Walsham is a charming village, I feel we haven't had the time to make the most of it. We will have to return for longer next time. Wyken Vineyard was enjoyable, a woodland walk and afternoon tea. We tried the Blue Boar and the burger van, both good. The Wednesday market in Bury was worth the wait, lovely town.

Mrs Diane R,

We have had such a lovely stay at this beautiful cottage. The Leaping Hare restaurant at Wyken Vineyards was a great way to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We also enjoyed a huge Sunday roast at The Ravenwood Hotel in Bury - Definitely recommend! Thank you s much John, it's been such a nice long weekend.

Rachel and A,

Absolutely fabulous holiday here in Suffolk! Spent 11 days exploring the Suffolk coast and villages as recommended by John's information book. Couldn't fault the cottage as it had everything we needed to hand and the welcome nox was lovely to! Wyken Vineyard & Gardens are just gorgeous as was the food. Earsham Hall at Bungay is a must for lunch and they have a fab interior shop. Thorpeness & aldeburgh were are favourite beaches along with the beautiful cottages along the way. All in all a fabulous stay. Thank you John.

Miss Lynne S,

We found Gabriels Place very relaxing. An excellent place to come to after a long lockdown. Thank you John for the warm welcome. It had everything we needed. We enjoyed exploring Suffolk. Food was lovely at Wyken Vineyard. We will be back soon! Thank you John.

Liz and A,

A relaxing and enjoyable stay. Two weeks in beautiful Suffolk. We recommend The Mast at Aldeburgh, Southwold and the museum of East Anglian life at Stowmarket. The cottage is charming and very comfortable.

Stephen and S,

Property is beautiful in a lovely village with a great local shop/butchers and 2 pubs - highly recommend.
