Lound Cottages

Lound is a small village located on the Norfolk and Suffolk border and east of the well-known village of Somerleyton. Lound has a duck pond, Church and village pub called “The Village Maid”. Lound has the interesting Anglo-Catholic round tower church of St John the Bapist. Somerleyton is the birthplace of the hovercraft, Morton Peto’s Somerleyton Hall and gardens including the maze open to the public in the summer. There is also a traditional pub and restaurant called ‘The Duke’s Head’ which often plays host to Sunday afternoon music events.

A couple of miles walk across the fields along Snakes Lane to Somerleyton or to Ashby Church, one of the many small historic churches and see the memorial to US Airmen or wander along the Angles Way. On the way back pop into the village local for a quick refreshment.

Our Lound holiday cottages are perfect for those looking for a rural retreat with easy access to popular towns and villages such as Lowestoft, Oulton Broad and Beccles.
