Located in the heart of historic Lavenham in rural Suffolk, this holiday home is part of a lovely new development of properties, and has a traditional feel with a stylish, modern twist. Featuring an open-plan living space and flexible sleeping for four, it’s ideal for couples or a small family, and welcomes your canine companion, too.

Completed in 2017, the cottage offers the best of both old and new. It’s five steps up to the front door, and then you’ll find the contemporary living space, a stylish, sociable room ideal for spending time together. You can prepare tasty meals using local delicacies, relax over leisurely suppers and take it easy on the sofas in front of the TV. There’s a handy WC on the ground floor, too. Upstairs, both bedrooms have TVs; one is super-king-size while the other can be a twin or super-king-size as you prefer. They share an elegant bathroom with a shower over the bath. In the gravelled front garden you can sit at the bistro set for two and enjoy some fresh air, a cup of coffee or perhaps a glass of something delicious.

Lavenham is England's finest medieval village as well as one of Suffolk’s most important wool towns, and is often regarded as the food capital of Suffolk. As well as a variety of interesting shops and galleries, it has an array of great places to eat and drink, plus traditional food outlets and a farmers’ market. Be sure to tour the historic buildings, including the splendid Guildhall, the charming Little Hall and the magnificent Church of St Peter and St Paul. From the village there’s a variety of walks through the surrounding countryside, and if you wish to drive out you’re just 12 miles away from the market town of Bury St Edmunds.

We spent 5 nights here to regain our equilibrium following a period of family trauma and it was just what we needed. We immediately relaxed and felt at home, slept soundly in the comfy beds and after long walks during the day retreated to the cottage for quiet dinners and cosy hours curled up on the sofas. We left feeling revived and ready to face Read morethe world again. Beautifully clean, comfortable and stylish yet practical and warmly welcoming. Dedicated parking space is a plus, and the location at the heart of beautiful Lavenham just couldn't be better. Hide
