Oozing with characterful charm dating from the 15th century, Bridge House is a postcard pretty retreat that accommodates 6 adults and a further, smaller bedroom that is comfortable for two children to share.
This Suffolk pink house is full of characterful features, such as exposed timber beams, beautifully fused with stylish yet classic interiors. Bridge House is a prominent residence in the small village of Kersey, arguably the prettiest and most charming in Suffolk, with the famous ford, or ‘the splash’ as the locals call it, flowing alongside the property, and set on nearly an acre of manicured garden.
An open plan and sociable kitchen/dining space is ideal for getting the family together for a homecooked meal. A range cooker takes centre stage and the kitchen is well-equipped to ensure you can enjoy your self-catering stay with ease. The contemporary kitchen is separated from a comfortable living space by only the gorgeous timber beams that frame the rooms of Bridge House so beautifully. Of course, if you prefer to have your cooking done for you then the ancient, timber framed Bell Inn across the road serves delicious home cooked meals and pulls a wonderful pint.
An elegantly styled sitting room sits at the heart of the home and is complete with a welcoming wood burning stove set within an inglenook fireplace. It is the perfect spot to curl up for a night in! A snug provides a small break-out space, but beware, if you are bringing children along then we can see them taking this room for their own!
Quietly set at the other end of the house is the ultra-charming bake-house, complete with 15th century bread oven. This is a great spot to get stuck into a good book or enjoy a coffee with your company and opens directly onto the garden. On the first floor there are three spacious bedrooms where you can recharge those batteries ready for days exploring this picturesque village and the surrounding areas of Suffolk, then rest your muscles with a soak in one of the two bathtubs.
If this wasn’t enough already, then the garden that surrounds is truly the icing on the cake! With nearly an acre to explore, including a summer house, access to country walks, and a small river; there is always a sunny spot to enjoy an al fresco meal which you're invited to prepare in the garden's traditional brick, wood fired pizza oven. When the sun goes down there’s a large cast iron fire pit to see you into the night. You’re also welcome to harvest vegetables and fruit from the extensive kitchen garden for use at Bridge House.
If you’re looking for a hideaway where you can truly rest and recharge, then we think Bridge House will be the place for you!

Considered one of Britain's 10 best villages, Kersey is a quintessential medieval village. In the heart of the Suffolk countryside just a couple of miles from Hadleigh, Kersey is one of England's finest chocolate box villages with a stunning hilltop church at one end, and an ancient ford running through its centre.
Surrounding Kersey are miles of quiet country lanes, ideal for walkers, cyclists and country lovers. Kersey is in the centre of the area known as the wool towns. Step back to the 15th century, Kersey was made famous and prosperous with the production of "Kersey cloth". Stroll around the village of Kersey and you will see large first floor windows on the early Tudor houses; these were created to provide as much light as possible for the weavers who worked in their own homes. The ford, or 'the Splash' as the locals call it, is a tributary of the River Brett which flows through Hadleigh. It's a lovely spot in the summer and great for children who can paddle or feed the ducks.
