Bury St Edmunds with its cathedral and Abbey Gardens is a short drive away. Lavenham and the historic wool towns are within easy reach, as are the antiques shops at Clare, Cavendish and Long Melford. We discovered this place exactly 4 years ago when we enjoyed a lovely long break. Decided to do it again, no regrets! Nothing has changed, fortunately, and I am sure we will return someday. Peace personalised. Andrew & Josep, Norfolk
Lovely cottage comfortable and bursting with character, splendid any time of year. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Apple tree cottage is quiet quaint an full of character it sits in a rural setting yet within easy reach of many places of interest. The cottage itself is well provided for a comfortable stay and time spent sitting in the summer house is not wasted. There are loads of nice walks and cycling opportunities in the area. The nearest pub was the compass in Stansfield which was nice with real ales on tap and fish and chip night Fridays. In summary a place I want to visit again.
We had a lovely time whilst here and the cottage made our introductions with our beautiful daughter that much easier (we are adopting), we look forward to visiting again.
We had a wonderful stay at your charming little cottage, we loved every bit of it. Everything worked just as you described and thank you for letting us use the towels. Again charming little cottage we really enjoyed ourselves.
Lovely Autumn break. Walks around the village and over the fields. Ickworth House basement very interesting and autumn colours in the grounds. Excellent meal at the Queens Head, Hawkdown. Clare Antique Shops, the first ever red Kite circling over Lower Green on Friday.
A step back in time. Blissful, lonely walks across the fields. Quiet picturesque villages, but also well supplied towns nearby. Many places of interest close to hand. Particularly Lavenham and Sudbury. Handsome and peaceful churches abound.
Albino Pheasant in the garden, Pure white & beautiful. Wonderful holiday as always.
Came to paint, was not easy, fell in love!
Cottage as lovely as ever, we have seen Deer by the Summerhouse. We have also enjoyed a cream tea at the Railway Station Cafe in Clare, it was very nice. The service at Denston Church was a real blessing, people were very friendly.
After three noisy days in London we really appreciated this peaceful place and despite the extreme heat, and a rainy day, we always found a nice place to spend the spare time and recover from trips all around Suffolk.
We've had a very wonderful week! We enjoyed the cottage, the nice weather and many friendly people. Thank you
Cottage cosy, Summer House great. Comfy beds and grounds first rate. A peaceful and relaxing stay - in all a perfect holiday!
A beautiful relaxing time with family. Gorgeous weather, lovely food, a trip out to Bury, Bouncy castle, bunting, role play productions, feeding birds, movie time, tears, tantrums and laughter. Lots of Love, thanks for a great week.
Had a lovely sunny week, Many thanks!
