Debenham lies in the heart of the Suffolk countryside near the source of the River Deben. The village which belies its past as a thriving wool centre has evidence of this trade all around in the timber framed merchants houses dating from 14th Century. Debenham has a pub (dog friendly) serving food and boasts the longest ford in the UK, being the source of the river Deben. The friendly village is a throwback to villages of the past; here you will find antiques, jewellery, gift shops and tearooms. What a lovely cosy cottsge. Get for our puppy he loved the back garden for running around in the morning before we went off for the day & again in the evening when we returned from our day out. Such a lovely & friendly village some great walks for us with the dog & runs for hubby too. Easy to get to the beaches at Aldeburgh & Southwold both enjoyable days out great fish & chips & ice creams.
Well-equipped and comfortable cottage with a lovely garden, with good access to tourist sites (eg Southwold/Minsmere/Sutton Hoo/Flatford Mill) within 30-45 minutes. Covid has resulted in fewer places providing evening meals (none in Debenham at present) but the Cop-op (100 yds) is excellent and there are pubs/restaurants open within 20 minutes drive. Stairs would be a problem for less mobile users. On street parking is tight but we had no problems finding spaces each day. All in all, very happy with the property - we had an excellent and much needed fortnight's holiday.
Warm and cosy cottage well equipped and with a pretty front and back garden. Very dog friendly and the Information file has some excellent information for days out. The cottage is close to all the amenities in the pretty village of Debenham. Parking can be an issue especially if you have a big car but we managed to find a spot close by.
A very warm and cosy cottage with everything needed for a comfortable, relaxing stay. The village is delightful and we really enjoyed several visits to River Green Café. This is also an excellent location for visiting the coastal areas. Thank you for the lovely welcome pack and being so dog friendly!
