Beccles, a holiday destination fast growing in popularity, is a lively market town set on the River Waveney. Located just on the Norfolk/Suffolk border Beccles is an ideal base for exploring all that these wonderful counties have to offer. The city of Norwich and its fine castle and cathedral are a 30 minute drive away (or if you prefer, you can take the bus), whilst the golden sands of Lowestoft, breath-taking beauty of Covehithe and charm of Southwold are less than 20 minutes away.
The town itself is dominated by the detached 16th century bell tower of St Michael's Church, which you can climb to the top of should you so wish. Take a wander to the quay, enjoy a river trip, a dip in the local Lido, or simply explore the range of independent shops, cafés and restaurants that the town has to offer.
