Nestled in the Suffolk countryside close by to the quintessential English villages of Lavenham and Long Melford is the perfect rural retreat for two.
Owlhoot Annexe, affectionately named after the Owners’ resident owl Benny, is a single story, modern barn-style conversion which has been beautifully decorated to create a warm and welcoming home. As you enter the property, you are welcomed into a large, open plan room with high vaulted ceilings and double sliding door which leads to your private veranda and gardens. The living area boasts a lovely squishy sofa, perfect to snuggle on in front of your electric wood burner, whilst watching a film on the smart television. There is also a smart speaker so you can bop along to your favourite tunes!
The fully fitted contemporary kitchen and utility room has all you could need during your stay to prepare a delicious dinner. If you fancy a night off cooking, there are some wonderful independent restaurants and pubs in the local villages.

GROUND FLOOR
Open plan room with: Sitting Area: Comfortable seating, electric wood burner, smart television with access to streaming services and sliding doors leading to private veranda.
Kitchen: Fully fitted kitchen with integrated fridge/freezer and dishwasher, induction hob, electric oven electric combi/microwave double oven and dining table with seating for four guests.
Utility Room: Washing machine, tumble dryer and integrated wardrobe space for coats and boots. Housing the boiler and underfloor heating controls pre-set for your convenience.
Bedroom: Double bed, bedside tables with lamps, dressing table and open wardrobe unit. Blackout curtains and vertical blinds.
Ensuite: Large rainforest wetroom shower, vanity unit, heated towel rail and WC.
Outside: Private veranda with garden furniture and access to small private garden to right-hand side of property perfect for a BBQ. (Charcoal BBQ supplied seasonally). The rest of the extensive garden is the owners and may be used upon request. There is a large pond with resident geese and "Benny the Bengal Eagle Owl" is housed nearby.
Parking: Free private parking for 2 cars.
Pets: Sorry no pets.
Heating: Underfloor heating throughout and electric wood burner.
Notes: Bed linen, towels, and Wi-Fi provided. A travel cot and high chair is available upon request at time of booking. There is also secure storage for bicycles during your stay. An occasional bed is available on request for children up to 12 years, please enquire if this is something you require.
Please note, the property is within the grounds of the owners. We have a large wildlife pond in the rear of the garden, access via a small gate. Please note whilst we do accept children they must be supervised at all times due to deep water. There is signage at the gates.
There is a local bus service in to Sudbury, Lavenham, Bury St Edmunds and Long Melford. 2.6 miles from Sudbury train station servicing London. Cycling and walking routes close by. Close to the river Stour for canoeing and boat trips.
Melford Hall and Kentwell Hall are well worth a visit. In the local villages you will find a fine array of delicious eateries and independent shops. Cavendish and historic Lavenham, famous for its antiques, are nearby. The River Stour and Constable Country are all within easy reach. Clare is also nearby and has a brilliant country park to walk and explore.
