Westleton is situated within the Suffolk Coasts and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and our cottages in this traditional village are perfect for discovering the Westleton Heath National Nature Reserve. Supporting an abundant wildlife population, this is a great place to witness the annual red deer rut every October.
Within the village you’ll find two lovely pubs. The Westleton Crown offers a tasty gastro style menu, a range of local ales and a varied wine list. It also has a lovely beer garden which is ideal if you’re bringing your dog on holiday with you. The White Horse Inn is a more traditional country pub which offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere and offers a selection of CAMRA beers.
What places can I visit near to Westleton?
Ideally located midway between Southwold and Aldeburgh, Westleton makes a great base for your Suffolk holiday. RSPB Minsmere is located very close by which was home of BBC’s 2014 Springwatch series. The coastal town of Dunwich is situated just two and a half miles away and is a fabulous Suffolk destination with its heaths, woodland, walking tracks, and wealth of stories from its past as a thriving port. The iconic seaside town of Southwold is within easy driving distance of Westleton and is a great family-orientated destination with its Blue Flag beach, traditional pier, lighthouse and a charming high street dotted with pubs, galleries and shops.
