Oak Barn Annexe has a fantastic location, being nestled in the idyllic village of Trimley St Martin, a village situated between the River Orwell and the River Deben. With that sort of positioning, you can expect to have some wonderful walks right on your doorstep! Just an easy 5 minute drive will have you in the popular seaside town of Felixstowe with its sand and shingle beach, seafront gardens and its two mile long promenade. It’s a fantastic spot to visit for some fish and chips!
Oak Barn Annexe is bright and spacious offering an ideal bolthole for two. At the heart of this stylish accommodation, you’ll find the contemporary open plan living area, which is cleverly zoned with kitchen, dining and living spaces. The kitchen is modern and well equipped, ensuring you have everything at your fingertips to whip up some home cooked meals. The comfortable seating area has a welcoming wood burning stove for those cooler evenings and a Smart TV – perfect if you would like to squirrel yourself away to spend an evening in with a good film! What’s more, there is a separate cosy snug space where you can get your nose stuck into a book while listening to some relaxing music.
Enjoying some well-earned rest will be easy here! The bedroom offers a perfectly formed space, hosting a plush king size bed (the bed can be configured into a twin so please request this at time of booking if required) and ample storage space for your stay. There is an ensuite with shower, basin, WC, with underfloor heating and heated towel rail. Outside, you’ll have access to a pretty, south facing, decking area with garden views. Here too you’ll find a barbeque for your use – imagine relaxing here, alfresco dining with a glass of wine in hand.
Oak Barn Annexe offers an ideal retreat to Suffolk, with easy access to coast and countryside. Being set in the village of Trimley St Martin means that river walks along the Orwell are just a 10 min walk away, and the Deben is just a 10-minute drive away. Trimley Marshes Nature Reserve is a must visit during your stay. If you enjoy walking, bird watching, photography or exploring then Trimley Marshes wetland will offer a wealth of exploring to be done. The beautiful Edwardian seaside resort of Felixstowe is also easily accessible, just a 10 minute drive away. Felixstowe stands at the mouth of the rivers Deben and Orwell and boasts a four mile stretch of sand and shingle beach, a paved promenade which is dotted with colourful beach huts and beautifully kept seafront gardens. Oak Barn Annexe is convenient to the main Ipswich – Felixstowe railway line, Trimley Station is a 15-20 minute walk or 5 minute drive, offering the ideal spot to explore this wonderful part of Suffolk and beyond. Open fields to front of property are regular home to large herd of deer which can often be seen from Oak Barn and the annexe, a spectacular sight through the oak tree at sunset.
Open Plan Sitting/Dining/Kitchen area – Kitchen: fully fitted, modern kitchen with cooker, induction hob, extractor fan, fridge with ice box, microwave and ample cupboard space. Door out into garden. Dining area: table and chairs for up to four. Sitting room area: soft seating, Smart TV, wood burner, footstool/coffee table.
Snug: ideal cosy space with corner sofa, acoustic guitar, coffee table, jigsaws, chess board, and bookshelf with range of books. Bose radio/CD player and selection of CDs.
Bedroom: King size bed, bedside tables, wardrobe, tall boy chest of drawers
Ensuite: Shower, WC, basin, heated towel rail and underfloor heating
Storage area: Large storage area at entrance with plenty of space to store clothes etc.
Outside: Pretty decked area specifically for the annexe. Please note, this space is open to the homeowner’s garden, however the decking space is solely for guest use. The decking area has been railed to provide additional privacy for guests. Garage: Access to a guest use only chest freezer.
Bicycle Storage: Locking point for chains etc fixed to rear of garage, located under cover, adjacent to annexe entrance.
Parking: Two parking spaces to the front of the property.
Heating: Electric heating and log burner.

This little "cottage" was like the Tardis in Dr Who. From the outside it didn't look very big BUT when I entered I couldn't stop saying WOW!! I had seen the photos but they did not truly reflect the spaciousness, and although it was very roomy it still had that lovely cosy feeling. The "snug" was my favourite area to sit and read my book and just relax. The standard of inside and out could not be faulted. The owners were so friendly and approachable. They made sure I was comfy and had even left a basket of goodies to welcome me and they also told me to use the garden as if it was my own. I was truly "at home" and it was a shame I had only booked a 3 night stay!! Many thanks for a lovely stay.

In spite of some foul weather we've had a wonderfully relaxing week here, thanks to the care and attention Chris and Pauline the Annexe project. From the initial 'welcome' basket onwards, we've been delighted by the attention to detail - not only inside but also the fantastic setting in a mature, colourful garden (which Chris claims is only a working progress). We need to come back, this place and it's owners are unique Thanks to you both.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at oak barn annexe. The hosts could not do enough for us and we were made extremely welcome. The annexe itself was spotless throughout and full of special little touches! I would strongly recommend this beautiful setting to family and friends.
We had a lovely relaxing break in the delightful Oak Barn Annexe which was in an idyllic situation. The property was spotlessly clean & we really couldn’t have chosen a better base for exploring Suffolk. Our hosts Chris & Pauline were very helpful & informative & we can certainly recommend the Annexe as the perfect place to stay.
This is good quality holiday accommodation with everything one would want for a home away from home. Plenty of storage for suitcases, shoes etc in the lobby before you even set foot in the living space. The kitchen has everything you could need for cooking meals after a day out. Lovely bedroom, good quality en-suite and living spaces are very comfortable. The owners are Chris and Pauline and you could not wish to find more helpful or friendly hosts. They have a beautiful garden that guests can use, as well as a very friendly terrier called Jack who gives a warm greeting to new arrivals. We had a great week and I can see us returning at some time on the future. Some very good pubs not too far away as well as supermarkets and petrol all just a 5 minute drive away. Great location, comfortable accommodation and helpful friendly hosts.
Chris and.Pauline looked after us very well indeed. A welcome pack, facilities, info were all first class. This place is a gem. Great area with excellent golf cycling walking and I guess swimming. The nearby train line is barely audible. We highly recommend this place.

We had such a wonderful time staying at Oak Barn Annexe It was superbly equipped and spotlessly clean and tidy. The covered terrace overlooking the garden was a real bonus on the hot days we spent relaxing or eating there. Even though you’re only 15 minutes away from Felixstowe town and its beaches you are in the country with some lovely walks down to the Orwell estuary and its wildlife. Chris and Pauline were the perfect hosts; They could not have done more to help us enjoy our break. It ticked all the boxes and we hope to stay again. Philip and Gabby
